Walkthrough:
Springhill includes two separate cottages, each with two levels (both included in rental). From the parking pad, there are terraced steps up the hill to the upper cottage. Entry to the upper cottage is onto the living room, which is partially open to the kitchen and dining area. There's an interior stair down to the bedroom and bathroom. Just outside the front door, there's a deck with outdoor living/dining, hot tub, and stair to the bedroom (upper) level of the lower cottage. The main entry to the lower cottage opens to the lower level sitting room. There's a mini kitchen and half bath on the lower level, and stairs to the upper level bedroom and bathroom. Note both interior staircases between living level and bedroom/bath are steep and narrow.

-There are many stairs, some rather steep, some uneven...in the cottages, on the property, and between the cottages.
-Both cottages have freestanding clawfoot tubs with showers.
-Both cottages have steep narrow steps between living level and bedroom/bathroom.
-The road to the house is rough, narrow, windy and dark at night. Arrive in daylight, if possible.
-Summerhome Park beach is not open to vacation rental guests, but there are many other beaches nearby.

What to expect from a Russian River Getaways vacation home...
GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICIES: Live Like a Local...Be a Good Neighbor
(aka required by Sonoma County rules for vacation rentals)
-Quiet hours are 9pm-7am (neighbors should not hear you during that time).
-No outdoor amplified sound/music (outdoor speakers) or loud noises at any time.
-No guests or cars in excess of maximum occupancy and cars noted in house listing.
-Follow parking instructions noted in check-in message and house binder.
-No weddings, parties, events, or loud gatherings of any kind.
-No temporary structures (including tents) or RV’s.
-No unsecured dogs or nuisance barking. Dogs will not be left alone uncrated in the house.
-No solid fuel burning outdoors, including charcoal BBQ's and wood-burning firepits.
-Follow state/local fire bans (Spare the Air, etc).
-Vacation rental guests must vacate the property upon issuance of a VOLUNTARY Evacuation Order for the evacuation zone in which the home is located. You'll find detailed emergency info in house binder.
CHECK-IN: We will message you about a week before your arrival with 1) code to enter the house, 2) special directions for finding the house, and 3) instructions for getting into the house. It's best to save this message to your phone, as cell can be spotty in this area. Roads can be narrow, windy, steep and poorly lit. Please try to arrive to our rural area in daylight.
• Check-in time is 3pm. Your access code will not work before 3pm.
CHECK-OUT: You'll find check-out instructions in the house binder.
• Check-out is 11am. Your access code will stop working at 11am.

Any amenity listed in the house description, but not on the list below, is subject to change without notice. We try to keep everything up to date, but if that additional amenity is very important to you, please ask about it.
• Bed: One set of bed linens per bed. Bed will be made up with fresh linens for your arrival.
• Bath: One set of bath towels per person (a set is one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth)...just like a hotel. Please bring your own recreational/dog towels. There will be an initial supply of toilet paper (2+ rolls per bathroom), hair dryer, liquid hand soap, bodywash/shampoo combo.
• Kitchen: Stove, refrigerator, blender, microwave, drip coffee-maker with gold filter & grinder (but not coffee), toaster, complete cookware, dishware, glassware, flatware, dishwashing and liquid hand soap, one roll of paper towels, dish towel, sponge, trash bags, and, if this home has a dishwasher (check house listing), dishwasher detergent.
• Laundry: Washer & dryer. We provide laundry detergent, but not dryer sheets. Keep loads to 2/3 max.
• Entertainment: Wi-Fi, streaming and/or cable TV, music player. Pay-per-view/on-demand/streaming subscriptions are not included in your reservation.
• Outdoors: Gas grill with at least one full propane tank & BBQ tools. IF THIS HOME HAS A HOT TUB, SWIMMING POOL, RIVER/CREEK ACCESS, DOCK and/or BOATING EQUIPMENT (check house listing), you will find use rules in our House Rules/Terms & Conditions on this site and the house binder after you arrive. If this home has a hot tub, it will available year round. Pool, river/creek access, dock & boating equipment are all highly seasonal (check house listing). USE OF HOT TUB, SWIMMING POOL, RIVER/CREEK ACCESS, DOCK, and BOATING EQUIPMENT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

CLEANING: Your home will be professionally cleaned by a Russian River Getaways staff housekeeper, who, thanks to visitors like you, is able to live and work in the Russian River area. Thank you for supporting local jobs!
SERVICE CALLS: We will only service urgent indoor house issues during guest stays, however, routine hot tub, pool and/or landscape maintenance may occur during your stay, without prior notice.
LOST & FOUND: If you leave something at the house, we will try to help you get your lost items back, so message us ASAP. There is a $50 flat fee for retrieving and shipping lost items. If shipping exceeds $25, the fee will be $25 + shipping. We keep found items for only 30 days.

Neighborhood highlights
Most homes in the Russian River area are located in rural neighborhoods, home to a colorful, eclectic population of both full-time and vacation home residents. There are neighbors, but they're usually not too close, and you can expect the kinds of activities typical of any neighborhood. There are a range of dwelling types, and you might rub elbows with a 5th generation River resident, a Silicon Valley scion, and a Generation of Love retiree on the same block. The Russian River is a vacation destination year round, and most homes are built on roads running parallel to the River or Creek with mountains close on both sides, so there are varying degrees of noise from the roads, the River, residents and other visitors. Many roads are narrow (some may even wend and wind a bit), without much street lighting, so it's best to arrive in the daylight, if possible, and please download and use our directions.
