Other things to note
A) English Translation:
We simply live where others go on vacation.
We are not a hotel, but offer private accommodation. Our guests have all been very satisfied so far, as our ratings clearly show.
Pets are also very welcome, provided they get along with our dog and our tomcat. We have already hosted guests with pedigree cats and participants in dog championships. Other attractions in our small high-altitude health resort Bitzer include riding holidays (Ludwig American Quarter Horses), gliding (Degerfeld airfield), cross-biking (Red Bull World Championship) and the Albstadt Marathon, classic car events, air shows, and the traditional 80 km winter cross-country ski run.
We are supplied with the best spring water in Europe from the St. Gallus source — the oldest known healing spring dating back to Roman times. We are very conveniently located traffic-wise on the historic Old Military Road B8 from Bern, Basel – BITZ – Berlin. This makes us popular both as an east-west and north-south rural holiday route, including for truck drivers who want to avoid German and European toll charges.
Additional highlights include being only 80 km from Lake Constance, close to the borders with Switzerland, Austria, and France, as well as the nearby Hohenzollern Castle. The UNESCO World Heritage Swabian Jura cave system is unique worldwide.
We are happy to provide information and travel tips, along with comprehensive guidebooks and information material for hikes (Albverein), cycling tours, or day trips. We are multilingual (Elke is currently learning Italian) and exceptionally well connected globally.

We are a married couple without children and live in a beautiful, small house on the Hoenzollernalb, in the south of Germany. From here, you can easily reach Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the new European states. I, Uwe, am self-employed. We are hospitable and looking forward to a nice visit ! :-) Alternatively, we also offer up to 5 students/indoor space and time for study and research. Separate prices for long-term bookings.
