Imagine staying in a Romantic Nature Resort in a dreamy Swedish village surrounded by stunning & peaceful nature while spending a few days with your loved one in a Tiny house with full privacy.
The Tiny house is located right on the water's edge. It is unique & eco-built space for relaxation in nature with a panoramic view overlooking lake Grycken.
Our outdoor wood-fire sauna, our newly built viewing platform & our heart-shaped labyrinth are all memorable highlights for our guests.
The space
The Tiny house was build with love and eco-friendly in 2018.
It is a multi-functioning & super cozy one room home. It has a comfortable and spacious high bed that you can access through a ladder with a small window at the top overlooking the lake.
Under the high bed is a sofa with an old door as a table that provides just enough space for a romantic dinner for 2 or a relaxing home office while being able to watch the birds and other wild life through the full sized window front.
The Tiny house is heated through an eco friendly air conditioner/ heater as well as an optional radiator for more colder days, but of course you can light a romantic and cosy fire with wood in our indoor fire place.
You will also find a small fully functioning kitchen including a sink, a tiny fridge & and even smaller freezer. Even though there is no running water you will have access to a 20L water tank, which operates with a small water pump during the warmer months. You can easily refill the water tank by accessing drinking water about 40m away from the Tiny house at the back of Vilan (red house).
The Tiny house guests also get to use a deluxe compost toilet with a living room feeling only 10 meters from the Tinyhouse. For anyone who is in high need of a real bathroom and a shower you are welcome to use our bathroom every other day. Of course you can always jump in the lake for a bath in nature!
There is a little porch right outside the Tiny house, which has enough space for 2 chairs and a tiny table. It's a beautiful spot to sit and read or have breakfast while the birds awake around you.
You have shared access to our beautiful and spacious garden that runs along the waterfront. From our dock you can jump or climb into the lake , which we highly recommend after having been in our wood-fired outdoor sauna, which heats up to 90°. Have you ever done ice bathing? It's a unique experience that you don't want to miss during the winter months. We are happy to give you our best tips and tricks to get the most out of an ice bath.
The sauna is 50 SEK per person and 100 SEK for wood. You get to reserve the sauna for 3h slots so you have full privacy while using it.
During the warmer seasons you are welcome to hire our wooden rowing boat, 2 x SUPs, one kayak or our popular raft to explore the lake & the nearby islands. We also have 2 bikes for rent which are perfect for cycling along our forrest roads.
Another highlight in our resort is our newly created heart shaped labyrinth, which is perfect for private love ceremonies or sacred union rituals. (Check out our offers. You are welcome to walk the labyrinth in your own time for free or with professional guidance and live music. Either way it will be a heart-opening experience and perfect for celebrating your love for each other) As well as our star-shaped viewing platform, which is great for wildlife watching or mediation. For those who like to cook over open fire you are welcome to use our outdoor kitchen area with big tree logs as seats and a small range of cooking utensils.
You have fast WiFi available throughout your stay, which is absolutely sufficient and reliable for online conferences.
Unfortunately it is not possible to have any pets inside the Tiny House.
Your hosts Janie & Fredrik are both passionate relationship coaches and love to bring couples closer together. You are welcome to book a private session with them during your stay or check out their online offers/courses.
Are you ready for more pleasure and relaxation during your holiday?
Guest access
The easiest way to get to our Romantic Nature Resort is by car.
You are welcome to park your car for free right outside Vilan (our Spa-Villa - also on airbnb only 50m away from the Tinyhouse) .
The alternative way coming from Stockholm is taking an SJ train to Hedemora and then a bus (which only goes twice a day Mon-Fri) or hire a cab.
We offer pick up or drop off from Hedemora train station for 50 Euros (for 2 people). Hedemora train station is about 25min away from Stjärnsund.
We have a small kiosk 200m down the road from the Tinyhouse where you can buy the most important things (opening times during the winter is 10am - 6pm and a little longer during the summer). They also offer a small range of take away food.
In the summer a small cafe and restaurant is open in Stjärnsund, but otherwise the closest restaurants are in Långshyttan (pretty ok Pizza), Hedemora (Thai, Pizza ect.) or Garpenberg Slott (super yummy & fancy food with reservation only).
For more food shopping options you can go to ICA in Längshyttan, which is about 15min away or to Hedemora about 25min away, where you will find lots options to shop.
If you have an electric car you have access to a charging station right outside our driveway on the left hand side.
Other things to note
When you rent the Tinyhouse you need to bring your own bedsheets, towels & sauna bathrobes. You will need a double mattress cover (180cm x 200cm), 2 standard blanket covers and 2 standard pillow cases. If you want to rent bedsheets & towels there is a cost of 300 Sek (for 2 people) or 200 Sek for one person.
At the end of your stay we ask you kindly to clean the Tinyhouse and leave it behind just as welcoming and clean as you found it for the next guests. We provide all the cleaning tools and products. You will also find a full cleaning list inside our welcome booklet. If you don't want to clean please let us know at least 48h before you leave and there will be a 400 Sek cleaning fee.
Here is a list of things that will make your stay even more special:
- bring candles (dinner table and tea lights)
- bring everything you need for the sauna (towels, shoes, robes)
- bring house shoes for people with extra cold feet
- bring extra wood for the sauna (every baskets costs 100Sek)
-bring everything you need to explore nature fully according to the season (the lake ... bring skates/skis during winter or swimming clothes for the summer, bring berry pickers or good shoes to go for a walk through the forrest)
- prepare for a walk through the heart-shaped labyrinth .. it's a bit like a wedding ritual, but without the pressure & the fancy clothes. Simply set an intention for your relationship and focus on one thing you want to let go of and one thing you want to call into your relationship so more love can flow between the two of you. It's simply and powerful. You can do it on your own or we are happy to hold a ceremony for you.
We are so much looking forward to welcome you and to make your stay memorable. We love unique experiences and we welcome you to ask for any special requests or dream holiday suggestions as we are open to listen and hopefully meet you in them to make your dream a reality.
Much love, Janie & Fredrik
Ps.: We have an outdoor bed as an add on option ... yes, even during winter time! Imagine cuddling in on reindeer skins and extra cosy blankets while sleeping under the stars on our raft or in the garden. (350Sek per person)

Where you’ll be
Hedemora, Dalarnas län, Sweden
Stjärnsund is one of the most picturesque villages of Dalarna.
You get to enjoy nature in all its beauty. You will find endless lakes with small islands to explore and you can enjoy long walks through the mossy forrest. Each season has so much to offer and for anyone who loves being in nature it is so easy to fall in love with the mystical landscape of Stjärnsund and its surroundings.
The village is most alive during the summer months (June, July & August).
On the weekends you will be able to stroll along the farmers markets and art& craft markets as well as the Stjernsund brewery, that opens every so often for beer tasting evenings.
Fredrik has been organising for the past 15 years for big Swedish & some international artists to come to Smedjan ,the concert & entertainment hall of Stjärnsund and host amazing concerts during the long summer nights. This historical building is also a stunning wedding venue.
Another popular meeting point is the mini-golf next to the kiosk, where you can get an ice cream, a hotdog and some other simple and yet tasty food.
Stjärnsund is also known for Fridhem, which is our local community house connected with a beautiful permaculture & diversity garden. They offer Yoga classes (usually around 3 times a week), ecstatic dance evenings (usually on a Thursday) and a range of courses throughout the year all around permaculture, spirituality & mediation and art & nature.
The people in the village often gather for sports activities during the warmer months and play soccer or volleyball once a week, which you are welcome to join.
We also have a visitor center and a cute cafe and a restaurant in Stjärnsund (only open during the summer).
The village is also known historically for Polhem, who was an inventor and part of the Swedish industrialisation. For anyone who loves history there are a lot of fascinating traces throughout our tiny village.
During the Autumn you can pick endless amounts of blue berries, lingam berries and mushrooms in the forrest as well as tracking & watching wild life.
During the winter you will get so much joy out of exploring our frozen lakes which are prepared for ice skating and perfect for long walks into the winter sunshine. We are also only 45min away from a popular skiing resort with a range of slopes perfect for all levels. If you are lucky you will even get to see the Northern Lights dance over the lake!!
It is very peaceful in Stjärnsund during the winter months and for anyone who loves silence and calm this is your ideal place for a romantic getaway.
During the spring it is most precious to walk through the forrest and discover all the spring flowers and the freshly sprouting plants. Once the ice on the lake is gone you can start to enjoy the water again in many different ways. For anyone who loves water sport or fishing this is a heavenly place to be. You are welcome to hire our rowing boat, SUPs, kayak or raft and enjoy the open sky while exploring the lake Grycken.
