Important Access & Arrival Information (Please Read Before Booking)

Aarzu is intentionally designed as a nature-immersive, slow-living mountain retreat, set high on a hillside at approximately 7,500 ft, with panoramic views of Rohtang, Jogini Waterfalls, and the surrounding Himalayan landscape. Its location is what makes Aarzu special: peaceful, elevated, and deeply connected to nature. Reaching us is part of that unique mountain experience and may involve a little adventure.

Please review the following carefully before your arrival:

Parking & Vehicle Access
• The final 100 metres leading to the property is a narrow, bumpy mountain road and may be difficult for smaller vehicles such as hatchbacks and sedans. SUVs and higher ground-clearance vehicles are better suited.
• We strongly recommend calling us before arrival for detailed parking and access instructions if you are travelling by car.
• In many cases, we advise guests to park at the designated point below, where our team will assist with onward access and luggage.

Walk to the Property
• Access to Aarzu requires an approximately 80-step uphill walk from the parking area. Please consider this before booking.
• Benches are placed along the pathway, allowing you to pause and enjoy beautiful aerial views of Manali during the ascent.
• Our team will meet you at the parking area and assist with your luggage to ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival.

Mobility Considerations
• Due to the hillside location and walking access, Aarzu may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges or those expecting direct, easy vehicle access to the property.

Mountain Environment
• Weather changes quickly in the mountains; evenings and nights are typically much colder than in town, so warm clothing is recommended.
• As we are located near the Wildlife Sanctuary, you may occasionally notice birds and small mountain animals around the property—part of Aarzu’s natural ecosystem.

Dining
• Our café is open daily.
• For our live grill experience, we request a minimum 2-hour advance pre-order to prepare it fresh for you.

Aarzu is best enjoyed by guests who appreciate nature, tranquility, and a more mindful, offbeat mountain stay experience.

During your stay
Our onsite team is available daily to assist with meals, housekeeping, local tips or special requests. Your host is reachable anytime by Airbnb messages and phone.

We aim to support your stay quietly and respectfully, present when needed and discreet when you want privacy.

Other things to note
• Access requires an 80-step uphill walk from the parking area; please consider this before booking.

• We have thoughtfully placed benches along the pathway so you can pause, catch your breath and enjoy stunning aerial views of Manali as you climb.

• Our staff will be waiting at the parking area to carry your bags, ensuring a seamless and comfortable ascent.

• Weather can change quickly; nights are colder than in town.

• Café is open daily; live grill menu requires a 2-hour pre-order.

• As we are close to the Wildlife Sanctuary, you may notice birds and small mountain animals in the area.

• Not recommended for guests with mobility challenges or those expecting a roadside hotel setup.

Neighborhood highlights

Welcome to the Heart of the Psychedelic Valley.

Nestled along the secluded Kalingcha Road, at the very edge of the Manali Wildlife Sanctuary, Aarzu isn’t just a destination—it’s an immersive experience in one of Himachal Pradesh’s most pristine ecological corridors. This elevated hideaway, part of the legendary Dhungri–Nasogi belt, places you right where nature breathes, the forest whispers, and time feels suspended.

Strategic Geo-Location:
• Altitude: 7,400 ft above sea level
• Access: 10-minute drive from Manali Mall Road, followed by a 10-15 minute forested trail walk—fully guided and assisted by Aarzu staff
• Region: Nasogi Village periphery, adjoining Lamadugh Trek base point

Nature-First Terrain & Visual Geography:

Aarzu is enveloped by dense deodar forests, apple orchards, and uninterrupted views of the Rohtang and Hampta ranges. Your mornings begin with the scent of pine and a sweeping canvas of snow-draped peaks. Your days are framed by gentle hikes, rustling leaves, and the soft sounds of mountain wildlife.

You’re not just near the forest—you’re inside it.
• Manali Wildlife Sanctuary: Home to exotic species like the Himalayan Monal, ibex, and yellow-throated marten
• Pine Trail Access: Stone-laden heritage trails lined with solar lamps offer safe, scenic treks by day and magical strolls by night
• Biodiversity Hotspot: Rare herbs like Karu (Gentiana kurroo) and Mushkwala (Valeriana wallichii) surround the property
• Themed Exploration: Spiritualists call it “The Psychedelic Valley” for its mysterious energy and deeply grounding effect

Nearby Treks & Hidden Adventures:
• Lamadugh Trek Starting Point: Just steps from Aarzu’s gate—leading you through alpine meadows and panoramic Himalayan lookouts
• Galliani & Shillathach Routes: Uncharted by most tourists, these tracks are ideal for slow travel and nature-based experiences
• Forest Immersion Walks: Whether solo or guided, these trails offer rare moments of stillness, story, and solitude

Local Culture & Authenticity:

Aarzu is cradled between the traditional Dhungri village—famous for its connection to the Hadimba Temple—and the Nasogi hamlets, known for preserving Manali’s oldest wooden homes and indigenous living practices. Locals still speak in whispers of spirits, seasonal rituals, and the healing powers of the forest. You may hear temple bells, see shepherds crossing with mules, or stumble upon age-old bonfire spots used by monks and nomads.

What Makes Aarzu’s Neighborhood Unique:
• No honking. No concrete sprawl. Just sky, silence, and cedar.
• Proximity to town with the feeling of being worlds away
• Stargazing at night with zero light pollution
• Wildlife sightings—from Himalayan birds to wild herbs used in Ayurveda
• A pure, contemplative zone ideal for writers, artists, honeymooners, and seekers
