Headline: Private 38-Acre Creekside Sanctuary @ RoFo Ranch
Experience true solitude at Orchard Camp. This exclusive glamping retreat is reserved for only one group at a time, no shared spaces or crowds. Nestled along McElmo Creek, you’ll have 38 private acres to explore. Includes two luxury tents, a private orchard, and endless views. It’s your own high-desert oasis to cook out, soak in the quiet, and stargaze in total privacy. Southwest Colorado at its finest.

The space
Escape to Your Own Private Orchard Camp

Escape to a private glamping retreat in a peaceful orchard with sweeping views of the breathtaking Canyon of the Ancients. Orchard Camp includes two luxury safari-style tents reserved for one group at a time, offering an exclusive camp experience within the larger RoFo Ranch property, which is also home to the owners’ private residence.

This is glamping at its finest: plush king beds, soft linens, inviting lounge spaces, and a beautifully designed bathhouse with hot showers — all surrounded by the raw beauty of Southwest Colorado.

Your Private Luxury Camp

Each spacious tent features a plush king-size bed with premium linens, cozy lounge seating, and thoughtful touches that blur the line between outdoor adventure and boutique hotel comfort. Fall asleep to deep quiet and wake to panoramic canyon views that stretch toward the horizon.

A short walk from the tents leads to the well-appointed bathhouse, so you can enjoy nature without giving up comfort.

Exclusively Yours

We host only one group at a time in Orchard Camp, so the orchard camp area is yours to enjoy without sharing it with other guests. No crowded campground, no rotating strangers — just your group, the open sky, and a peaceful setting designed to help you settle in and slow down.

Please note: this reservation is for Orchard Camp only, not the full ranch, and the broader property is shared with the owners’ private residence.

Outdoor Experience

Gather around the fire pit under a canopy of stars — the dark skies here are extraordinary for stargazing. Enjoy open-air meals in the outdoor kitchen and living area, unwind in the soaking tubs, and take in the changing light across the canyon throughout the day.

The orchard camp area is private to your group, creating a secluded experience while still being part of the larger ranch setting.

Explore the Region

Orchard Camp is ideally located near some of the Southwest’s most remarkable destinations. Mesa Verde National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient cliff dwellings — is just a short drive away. You can also explore Canyon of the Ancients National Monument, visit nearby Cortez for dining and supplies, or head to Durango for the historic Silverton train. Hiking, mountain biking, and archaeological sites are all within easy reach.

What Makes This Special

This is not a typical campground. It is a thoughtfully designed glamping experience for guests who want to connect with nature without giving up comfort. From the quality of the beds and linens to the privacy of the orchard camp setting to the incredible dark skies and canyon views, every detail is meant to create a stay that feels both grounded and memorable.

Perfect for couples, small groups, adventure seekers, stargazers, and anyone ready to unplug and recharge in the beauty of the American Southwest.

Wildlife & Safety Note:

RoFo Ranch is located in a remote natural setting, and wildlife is part of the experience here. Guests may encounter snakes, coyotes, insects, uneven terrain, and other wild animals common to Southwest Colorado. For this reason, children under 8 are not permitted, pets are not allowed, and all guests should remain alert, use caution when walking the property, especially at night, and stay within designated guest areas. By booking, guests acknowledge that they are staying in a rustic outdoor environment and assume responsibility for using the property carefully and respectfully.

Guest access
You'll have access to roam much of this 38 acre property which includes a hay farm, cliffside and clifftop trail and a section of McElmo Creek. We just ask that folks stay away from the private residence on site, which is well-marked.

Other things to note
Sheets, towels, pantry basics and actually-good-pillows are included.

We love pets and kids but due to the Wildlife with a capital W with whom we share this land we must limit our guests to ages 8 and up. Southwest Colorado is a land of extremes. We get hot, cold and everything in between. The tents are canvas so we offer electric blankets and small space heaters for colder days, and fans for the warmer days. And in advance, we apologize for the high cleaning fee. When you're here you'll understand why with the large showerhouse and all its windows, the large canvas tents and big decks, etc.

I live by the philosophy that life is a story so you might as well make it a good one. That's one reason we ended up in a remote Colorado canyon rehabbing a hay farm into (hopefully) something more regenerative. We are learning a whole new way of life. I have big love for film, dogs, BHAGs, stoicism, and travel with our friends. It's a real blessing to get to share this unique pocket of Colorado with so many good people.
