Experience the forest from above in this architectural gem. From the treetops you’re surrounded by layers of lush green, with views of Mission Lake and the Olympic Mountain range. The surrounding property includes 20 acres of old-growth forest trails, lakefront access and year-round beauty.

Your stay at Rockland Woods supports the Rockland Artist Residency - a twice yearly residency offered for free to a selection of artists from around the world.

The space
Two massive douglas fir trees hold up this thoughtfully designed piece of architecture. The space features a king sized bed with a skylight framing the towering trees which support the structure. The treehouse has a full bathroom with an open rain shower, sink and bidet toilet, atop a heated floor, a well-equipped kitchen and picture windows that enhance the experience of floating in the treetops. The interior of the treehouse is 450 square feet and the covered exterior deck is another 350 square feet.

Treehouse guests have access to dedicated parking space.

Please note that our Art Studio & Barn Workshop is situated nearby, and while mostly vacant, there may be artists or caretakers passing through.

This is one of several buildings situated on the property, so you may encounter other guests during your stay, but the treehouse is all yours and positioned on the property to maximize privacy.

My partner (a ceramicist) and I started the non-profit organization, Rockland Residency, to support other artists (musicians, writers, visual and performance) in their creative process. Our short-term rentals help pay for artists during their 3-week residency at Rockland Woods. Our family is 2 boys and a dog. We build community as educators, coaches, and activists. We love the outdoors to recharge and get inspired. Sharing our dinner table with our friends, family and sometimes strangers is our favorite way to enjoy life.
