Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Two ancient Douglas firs hold up this one-of-a-kind treehouse with a king bed, skylight, full kitchen, heated bathroom floors, and 350 sq ft of covered deck floating above old-growth forest.

Views of Mission Lake and the Olympic Mountains complete the picture.

Your stay at Rockland Woods supports the Rockland Artist Residency - a twice yearly residency offered for free to a selection of artists from around the world.

The space
The interior of the treehouse is 450 sq ft of thoughtfully designed living space: king bed positioned under the skylight, picture windows that dissolve the line between inside and forest, a full kitchen with homemade ceramic dishes, and a bathroom with walk-in rain shower, bidet toilet, and heated floors. Step outside to 350 sq ft of covered deck - your private platform in the trees, whatever the weather.

The treehouse is one of several hand-crafted spaces on the Rockland Woods property (the Lodge and glamping tents are bookable separately). It's positioned for maximum privacy, with dedicated parking right at the door.

Your Access to the Property:

The treehouse is yours - private, positioned for maximum seclusion, with dedicated parking steps away.

As a Rockland Woods guest you also have access to:
3 miles of walking trails through old-growth forest
Semi-private lake access (Mission Lake) across a quiet dead-end road
Stand-up paddleboards, kayak, and canoe
Life jackets for all ages (toddler through adult)
The cedar hot tub
The outdoor clawfoot bathtub tucked into the trees
The property has a creative, lived-in energy: Shawn's studio and barn are on site, and you may encounter the owners or other guests on the shared trails and lakefront. The treehouse itself is set apart for privacy.

Guest access
Treehouse guests have access to dedicated parking space.

Please note that our Art Studio & Barn Workshop is situated nearby, and while mostly vacant, there may be artists or caretakers passing through.

This is one of several buildings situated on the property, so you may encounter other guests during your stay, but the treehouse is all yours and positioned on the property to maximize privacy.

My work: Contractor/Designer/Artist
Speaks English
I am an artist and contractor living and working in Seattle, WA, USA. My art is sculpture, installation and performance-based. My partner (a ceramicist) and I started the non-profit organization, Rockland Residency, to support other artists (musicians, writers, visual and performance) in their creative process. Our short-term rentals help pay for artists during their 3-week residency at Rockland Woods. Our family is 2 boys and a dog. We build community as educators, coaches, and activists. We love the outdoors to recharge and get inspired. Sharing our dinner table with our friends, family and sometimes strangers is our favorite way to enjoy life.
