The space
Red Bear Cabin is where families come to actually disconnect. Set on 3 private acres in the heart of Hochatown, you're minutes from Broken Bow Lake, Choctaw Landing Casino, and Beavers Bend State Park — but the cabin itself gives you every reason to stay put.
THE SPACE
The living room anchors everything — a large stone fireplace, oversized leather couch, and warm log cabin character that immediately feels like a vacation. The fully equipped kitchen features a 5-burner gas stove and seats 10 between the bar and dining table, so the whole group eats together.
Step outside to the screened-in covered porch overlooking the creek and property. It's the kind of spot where evenings disappear — outdoor sectional, fire pit table, dining table, and creek views as far as you can see. The creek behind the cabin flows beautifully through much of the year and sets the backdrop for the fire pit area in every season. Note: the creek is seasonal and flow varies with rainfall, particularly in summer.

Other things to note
THE KITCHEN — ACTUALLY STOCKED
Most vacation rentals leave you hunting for a pan and hoping there's salt. Not here. Red Bear's kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking — quality cookware, a complete spice cabinet, all the tools you need, and enough dishes and silverware for the whole group without running the dishwasher mid-meal. Guests consistently tell us it's the best-stocked kitchen they've encountered in a rental. We mean it when we say you can cook here.
THE WAFFLE BAR
One of our most talked-about touches — a complete waffle and pancake bar waiting for you when you arrive. Mix, toppings, syrups, the works. A slow morning with coffee and fresh waffles on the screened porch is one of those vacation moments guests keep coming back for.
THE COFFEE STATION
A fully stocked coffee bar with everything you need — drip coffee, K-cups, flavor syrups, and more. Morning coffee on the back porch overlooking the creek is a non-negotiable part of the Red Bear experience.
THE WELCOME
From the moment you walk in, you'll know this isn't a cookie-cutter rental. A welcome note and snack basket greet you at arrival — a small touch that guests notice every time and mention in nearly every review.
THE SCREENED PORCH
One of the most beloved features of the cabin. A large, covered, screened-in porch off the kitchen with a dining table, outdoor sectional, and gas fire pit table — all with views of the creek and property beyond. It's comfortable in the heat, functional in the rain, and the kind of space where your group will spend most of its time without realizing it. Several guests have specifically called it out as the reason they'd come back.
THE CREEK
The creek running behind the cabin is a genuine highlight — kids spend hours catching crawfish, minnows, and tadpoles, while adults pull up an Adirondack chair at the fire pit alongside it. Note: the creek is seasonal and flow varies with rainfall, particularly in summer months.
THE WILDLIFE
Deer are a near-daily occurrence at Red Bear — guests regularly spot them from the back porch, front yard, and along the creek. Early mornings are the best time. Multiple guests have mentioned watching deer while cooking breakfast from the kitchen. Raccoons, armadillos, and squirrels make regular appearances too. This is a heavily wooded area and wildlife sightings are part of the experience.
THE BATHROOM EXTRAS
We stock the bathrooms with the things people forget — toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving kits, nail files, and more. It's a small thing that eliminates a mid-trip run to the store and guests notice it every time.
THE DIGITAL GUIDEBOOK
Before you arrive, we send a comprehensive digital guidebook covering everything — how to find the cabin, how to use all appliances (including step-by-step videos), local restaurant recommendations, area attractions, and everything in between. Multiple guests have called it the best they've seen at any rental. It makes trip planning easy and takes the guesswork out of arrival day.
THE WIFI
Fast, verified wifi at 97 Mbps — enough to stream 4K video and handle video calls on multiple devices simultaneously. Whether you're working remotely or just keeping the kids streaming, it holds up.
EV CHARGING
The property has a NEMA 14-50 outlet on the back side of the driveway — the standard for Level 2 EV charging. Bring your adapter and you're set. One less thing to think about on a trip out of town.
THE LOFT
The game loft overlooks the living room and gives kids (and adults) their own space to decompress — an arcade unit with 60 games, an oversized bean bag, and a twin daybed. It's become a favorite wind-down spot after a full day out.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Beyond the screened porch, the outdoor spaces give you room to actually spread out — Adirondack chairs around the creek-side fire pit, a kids' playset, Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Jumbo Connect 4, Ladder Toss, a gas grill, a porch swing, and seating areas front and back. Three acres means nobody is on top of each other.
THE FIREPLACE
The large stone gas fireplace in the living room is the centerpiece of the cabin — exactly what you want on a cool evening after a day outdoors. Fall and winter guests consistently call it one of their favorite features.
SLEEPING COMFORT
Every bed in this cabin is made up with quality linens, comfortable pillows, and extra blankets. Guests regularly comment on how well they slept. We take the sleeping experience seriously — you're on vacation, you should rest.
CLEANLINESS
Cleanliness is mentioned in nearly every single one of our 100 reviews. We hold the property to a high standard between every stay — not just a surface clean. You'll notice it when you walk in.
