The space
Nestled in the gated Walnut Mountain community, this peaceful mountain retreat offers hiking trails, four private lakes, a seasonal pool, tennis courts, and beautiful wooded surroundings.
Sip your morning coffee from one of 3 decks while listening to the mountain stream and watching deer walk by. Later relax in the hot tub or around the fire pit beneath the stars after a day exploring Ellijay. (Just 10 minutes to downtown Ellijay and 23 minutes to Blue Ridge).
As you arrive at the cabin you are greeted by the front deck with several inviting rocking chairs. Inside are wood walls and wood floors for that true cabin experience.
One of our favorite things about Red Maple Cabin is the peaceful setting. At night the stars are incredible, and during the day you'll often spot squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and deer right from the deck.
The main level features the living room with a high vaulted ceiling, a cozy fireplace, two queen bedrooms, a full bath, and well-equipped kitchen. Off the kitchen is the second deck running the entire length of the cabin with a plumbed gas grill and perfect views.
The upper/loft main bedroom features a king-size bed, private full bathroom, reading nook, and double doors opening to the private screened deck.
Downstairs (basement) is a large game room with a Smart TV, sitting area, a regulation size cornhole set, game table, and lots of games.
Outdoors, the back yard features a wood-burning fire pit for enjoying great conversations on a chilly night. Blankets are provided too.
Lake Dakwa is just a 5-minute walk away for fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
The private king suite is located upstairs while two queen bedrooms are on the main level.

Guest access
You will have exclusive use of the entire Cabin. The place is yours during your stay. Walnut Mountain is a private gated community. Skyview Dr. is located on the right at Gate 2. Initially, you will need to stop at the Welcome Station if manned (on the left) across the street from Gate 2, where a gate attendant will buzz you in. You will also have your own private gate code. There is level parking for 4 vehicles at the property.
The Community is gated and guests will be asked to provide Vehicle information regarding Make, Model, and Tag number(s).
Other things to note
PRICING: Pricing per night is for 2 guests. Each additional guest is $19 additional per night. Pet fee.
Lake access to Lake Dakwa (one of 4 lakes) is by walking up the mountain to the next right turn and following the walkway down to the lake and hiking trail.
All guests have access to the Walnut Mountain community amenities. These include an outdoor community swimming pool (seasonal), play ground, tennis courts, basketball court, and a picnic area. Bring your canoe, kayak, and/or fishing poles to take advantage of the 4 private lakes in the community that are home to bass, catfish, and brim. There is a trout fishing stream at the entrance to Walnut Mountain near the picnic area. You will also find several hiking trails on Walnut Mountain. (Check local laws regarding fishing licenses.)
