Beautiful area

This home is in a scenic location.
Some info has been automatically translated.
This historic, charming and luxurious fishing lodge is nestled into this delightful island in the middle of Lough Corrib.
Originally built in 1907 by Lord Headley, this exclusive property was renovated and modernised in recent years to create an extremely comfortable and tranquil hideaway.
The lodge is the ultimate haven from the stresses of modern life and is a unique experience. You share this beautiful 26 acre island with a small flock of sheep!!

The space
The accommodation sleeps a total of 7 and consists of 5 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twins and 3 singles, 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and a spacious sitting room opening onto an extensive covered veranda.

Guest access
The Lodge is accessed from Kenny’s Bay on the Eastern side of Lough Corrib, where your cars can be safely parked. A lake boat with engine and lifejackets are provided for the short 5 minute spin to the island. A boatman can be arranged to ferry people to and from the island and extra boats and engines can also be arranged.
The town of Headford is 10 minutes from Kenny’s Bay and Galway City is 30 minutes away.
Knock Airport is 1 hour away and Shannon is 1.5 hours.

Other things to note
For fishermen a full professional ghillie service is available and catering can also be arranged if all you want to do is fish and relax!
The lodge is the ultimate fishing base with the lake literally on your doorstep. The mid lake position of the island means that all types of fishing are available nearby and the area is quite sheltered. The beauty of staying on the water means your day can be tailored to suit when the fish are feeding.
You can cast a fly to Caenis feeding trout at daybreak in June and still get back to bed for an hours sleep before breakfast or you can stroll down to the pier at dusk after a hearty meal to try and catch one of Corrib’s monsters feeding on adult buzzers, spent mayfly or large sedges. The possibilities are many!
