Welcome to The Retreat at Pressed! We’re so honored to have you as our guest! We are located in the heart of downtown Spencer, near several retail shops, a coffee house, a brewery, & many local eateries.

The space
This historic loft apartment above our retail store, Pressed, features a newly renovated living space with a full kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with a full/twin bunk bed), a queen sleeper couch in the living room, and a bathroom with a shower. One of the most beautiful features of this space is the natural light from two original skylights. Rest and recharge in historic downtown Spencer, Iowa!

Our building was built in 1919 and as such has incredible charm, yet limited accessibility features. "The Retreat" is located above our store which is more like a story and a half tall. The staircase leading up to "The Retreat" is 26 steps of original marble. At the top of the stairs there will be two doors, the one to the left leads to "The Loft" a rentable photo, video, & podcast studio; the one straight ahead is "The Retreat".

Other things to note
A few days before your reservation you will receive an access code for the door. Depending on the type of code you may be prompted to enter it twice upon your initial arrival.

Overnight parking is not permitted on our main street, but side street parking is allowed and there are two parking lots just around the corner from our building.
