Welcome to the alpine chalet in Prafandaz, Leysin, a haven of peace offering warm accommodation for up to 8 guests in a magical and unique place. From the terrace, you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Lake Geneva, the Dents du Midi and the Diablerets glacier. It is also the starting point for many walks, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Whether in summer or winter, our chalet will delight lovers of nature and calm.
The space
Alpine chalet located in Prafandaz - 1600 meters above sea level - in Leysin with a large garden terrace with panoramic views to the east, south and west. Great for families and nature lovers! It is the starting point for many walks (Solacyre), while being located 5 minutes by car from the center of Leysin, its shops, restaurants, swimming pools, skating rink, tobogganing, pumptrack, tennis and ski slopes (etc.).
🌲The interior is comfortably equipped: On the ground floor, a magnificent kitchen with wood stove and fully equipped glass ceramic hobs, a large dining table, a living room with a pellet and wood stove (which are obviously provided), a sofa, 2 armchairs and a bathroom with a shower, toilet and washing machine. Upstairs, a master bedroom with a double bed (140/200) and a mezzanine with a double bed (140/200) and a large room (dormitory style with space) separable by a curtain with 2 bunk beds (4 beds). We can lend you a travel cot for babies and small children on request at the time of booking. Storage is available: upstairs there is a wardrobe with hangers, two large chests and a large shelf. 2 tables, which can be used as desks, are available upstairs.
🌲Outside, a large terrace on the east and south side with a large table, two parasols, 4 deckchairs and a barbecue. A large corten steel brazier can be rented upon request. A large stone fountain will delight children who want to cool off in the summer. In winter, the mountain pasture turns into a gigantic toboggan run! Be sure to take them with you.
The chalet is not accessible by ski directly from the slopes of Leysin (except for cross-country skiing). You can reach the gondola lifts by car in 5 minutes (we even have a good free parking plan right next to the departure to offer you).
Basic products, local & often organic, are available in the kitchen and for maintenance.
Accessible by car when there is no snow. In winter, it is possible to park in the parking lot of the restaurant de Prafandaz and walk up the remaining 50m.
The road between the restaurant and the chalet is gravel for the last 100 meters and is not suitable for cars that are too low. Likewise, the climb to the restaurant from the main road, in case of snow, must be done in 4x4 or with good snow tires.
No wifi so far but efficient 5G network available. We can watch Netflix without any hassle.
For the La Grande Prafandaz party room, next to the alpine chalet, we rent it through our website of the same name. Please do not apply for this one through Airbnb. The party room is obviously not rented when there are guests at the alpine chalet.

TRAVEL:
You can go up to Prafandaz by car and park next to the Alpine Chalet, if there is no snow. There are 3 places available. If there is snow, parking is available at the Prafandaz restaurant, 50 meters from the alpine chalet.
By taxi, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
By public transport: TRAIN AIGLE-LEYSIN GRAND HOTEL then, you have to go up on foot or by taxi to Prafandaz (approx. 30 minutes uphill).
A free SHUTTLE BUS goes around the Village of Leysin and up to the Grand Hotel.
TPC bus from Sépey, L'Etivaz, Les Mosses or Château D'Oex: See timetables on the TPC app. The nearest stop is Leysin Feydey.
Other things to note
We are organic bud farmers (Les Ateliers en Crettaz - Barroud Family) concerned about sustainable development who promise you a natural cleaning of your home and your sheets/linens. The products available (olive oil, apple cider vinegar, coffee, black tea, sugar, salt, pepper, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher and laundry detergent, sponge, soap) are organic and as local as possible. They come from our sustainable grocery store located in the center of Leysin (La Guintsette) where you are welcome of course. They are sold in bulk, so you can stock up on basic products in small quantities. Even the toilet paper comes from a Geneva company and is bought in bulk, without plastic.
You will stay in an agricultural environment. Calm most of the time but the tractors are active during the hay and regrowth season. Our cows and sheep do not have bells, which does not prevent them from being heard. In short, life in the alpine pastures...
