The space
HISTORIC BUILDING IN A CENTRAL AND STRATEGIC POSITION
The apartment is on the third and last floor via stairs of a historic building adjacent to Porta Torre, the main entrance to the walled city of Como.
The facade and internal stairs have been recently renovated.
SAFE AND QUIET CONTEXT
The setting is safe, quiet, and well-inhabited.
The building consists of only 7 apartments, and our accommodation located on the third and last floor is particularly quiet because it faces internally, away from the noise of street traffic.
RAILING, MEZZANINE, WOOD AND STONE
The building was a typical Lombardy "casa di ringhiera" (a building with a shared balcony), which was later renovated.
Access from the balcony and the inner courtyard are characteristic of this type of dwelling, which is widespread throughout northern Italy.
The high ceiling in wooden beams and the mezzanine make the environment characteristic and welcoming.
The exposed stone details recall the past.

We provide a free external storage room on the balcony closed with a padlock that can be used both before and after the stay (subject to availability).
In some cases, the storage room may be shared between two groups and will be usable if sufficiently large, without any liability on our part for any damage. For this reason, we always recommend not leaving any valuables inside the storage room.

Two days before your arrival, we will ask you to send a copy of your identity documents for mandatory registration at the police station.

STRATEGIC LOCATION
We are 100 meters from Porta Torre, an ideal starting point to visit the walled city and the lake.
Being outside the ZTL, you can arrive by car in front of the house to load/unload your luggage.
LARGE PARKING GARAGE AND NUMEROUS PARKING LOTS NEARBY
If you want to park indoors, we suggest the large Tribunale parking garage in Via Auguadri (800 spaces), which is only 200 meters from the house. If you prefer an outdoor parking space, we recommend the Santarella parking lot in Via Sant'Abbondio, which is free on Sundays and very cheap during the rest of the week (5 euros per day).
There are also completely free parking spaces (white stripes) on the street about 50 meters away (from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) in Mugiasca/Cigalini/Cadorna streets or free all day 10 minutes walk from the house (parking in Via Regina Teodolinda).

Other things to note
Two days before your arrival, you will be asked to send, via AIRBNB chat, a photo and front and back copy of valid identity documents for all booked guests (including children).
The reason for the request is that in Italy it is mandatory by law to communicate the personal data of guests to the Police Headquarters by the day of arrival.
We cannot accept guests without valid documents and we cannot make exceptions.
It is ESSENTIAL to send the documents by 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival.
The accommodation tax is already included in the price!
