Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Cherry Ridge Cabin is a very special cabin on 36 acres of your own private woods & trails in the NEPA area of the Poconos Mountains. Swim, kayak, & relax by our own huge 5 acre private lake called Big Bird Pond as featured in Philly Mag. The pond not shared with anyone else! Follow us on IG (cherryridgecabin).

This very spacious & light-filled cabin offers 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms, well-equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace, w/d, firepit, & more. This cabin is ideal for up 9 people.

The space
This prow style cabin offers modern living and comfort in the middle of 36 acres of woods, trails, and its own 5 acre pond. Stay with us and enjoy all four seasons of nature, but near great towns like Honesdale, Hawley, Hamlin, and Lake Wallenpaupack.

This spacious and light-filled cabin offers four bedrooms and four full bathrooms (three are on-suites), a well-equipped kitchen, a large living area with cozy couches, wood stove, washer/dryer, firepit, private lake, and keypad entry. This two story, 2,600 square foot cabin is ideal for groups of 4-9 people. We hope you will love our home as much as we do!

When requesting to book: please let us know why you're in town and your expected arrival/check-in time.

The first floor includes the heart of the cabin: a huge two-story “great room” that combines the living room space, dining room, and well-stocked kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with all cookware if you're feeling like a chef! Or, just use the fridge to store some snacks or order delivery. There are numerous dining opportunities, from coffee shops to pizza takeout to five stars, all within a short drive. Directions for the local grocery store, markets, and seasonal farmers market will be provided. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer, located just off the kitchen floor. A large deck with an outdoor propane grill and an outdoor charcoal grill/smoker and picnic table overlooking the lake is available for use as well.

The bedrooms are on both floors. The two bedrooms on the first floor include one that is furnished with a comfortable queen size bed, wall fan, and a large closet. The other one on the first floor is the largest bedroom and includes a king size bed with en suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub, shower, and double sinks. On the second floor, there are two similar sized bedrooms that each include comfortable queen size bed, en suite bathrooms, and large closets. All bedrooms and bathrooms include fresh sheets, clean blankets, pillows, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, bath and hand towels, and lots of windows to let in the clean mountain air.

Please note that this cabin is in a secluded area and has very limited/spotty cell phone reception, fast wifi that is perfect for working remotely including streaming services/Zoom calls, and a traditional land line. Window air conditioning units are provided in the summer for the bedrooms but the main great room only has ceiling fans and can be warm on the hottest summer days. We recommend building a fire in the fire stove during the winter for cozy vibes and as a heat source.

We are a fully appointed four season home you can enjoy year round along with all the Poconos have to offer! We are perfect for families and friends looking to get away... but we are not a party house. We ask you show the cabin love and respect during your visit.

We are surrounded by outdoor activities! Walk out the door and sit on the spacious deck grill dinner, take a hike around Big Bird Pond (1/3 mile loop named in homage to a former owner of the cabin who was the first female director of Sesame Street), swim in the lake, sit by the dock, feed the fish (and fish!), or drive 30 minutes to other places for swimming, hiking, mountain biking, waterfalls, golf, skiing, antiquing, hunting and more! Fishing is year round on Lake Wallenpaupack or numerous nearby lakes, rivers and streams including the Lackawaxen with its excellent fly fishing opportunities.

Guests also have access to two kayaks to paddle around the lake (life vests and paddles are provided). Motorized boating or sports is not permitted as the water is not deep and will harm the wildlife.

Looking for a little R&R? There's firewood for use of the wood stove, access to Wi-Fi and local cable stations with Apple TV, ample books, a writing desk, and multiple cozy locations for relaxing the day away. A traditional phone line is available as cell phone reception can be limited.

Need a recommendation? We're happy to help.

Guest access
The entire property comprised of 36 acres is yours to explore. Take a hike around the lake (1/3 mile loop called Blueberry Trail), explore on the trails, or take one of the provided kayaks out for a spin in the pond. The entire house is yours to use.

The only areas not permitted for guests is the garage and the two sheds.

Other things to note
Please note that this cabin is in a secluded area and has spotty cell phone reception and high speed cable internet that is great for working “from home” including video calls and streaming.

One (1) well behaved and housebroken dog permitted with a $150 nonrefundable pet fee. No cats or other pets allowed.

We are not a party house, and ask you show the cabin as much respect during your stay.

Cabin is professionally cleaned in between guest stays.

Jen & Griff (Eric) are longtime Airbnb users - hosting from home in Philadelphia + our cabin in the Poconos! We’re both small business owners. We’ve lived in Philly for over 20 years + love everything it has to offer: big city vibe with a small town feel, delicious food, great arts and culture, and all four seasons. Our cabin in the mountains is SO special and we love sharing it with travelers who appreciate it as much as we do.
