Old historic Mill & the Locke Store that sells amazing gourmet food/wine a mile up the road.

The space
This is a fabulous little renovated farmhouse on a couple of acres in Millwood, Virginia. This property sits amidst the beautiful, rolling hills and horse country of the Shenandoah Valley.
Just down the street a mile or so…
is the Old Burwell Morgan Mill and idyllic picnic area — and across the street is the local favorite Locke Store that sells delicious gourmet food and wine.
Guest will be thrilled with the beautiful wildflower gardens that are right on the premises and available($) for their picking.
There is also a great front porch with a porch swing as well as a rear deck with outdoor seating and a grill for relaxing at days end.
Please note: there is room for horse trailers at the property. Should you need to park one.

Peony Wildflower Farm Open Hours will be shared with guests ahead of time.

Guest access
Guests will have FULL access to the entire house and all porches and carport area
and are welcome to enjoy the area surrounding the house including the fire pit area during their stay.

The one exception to this is
the designated area of the field in the rear of the house that is the Wildflower Farm areas. ( a map and more details will be posted in laundry room for guests )

Note: Please do not use any glitter, confetti or any sort of permanent markers during your stay.

Note: If your stay happens to be over a major holiday, ( Christmas / Thanksgiving /Memorial /Labor Day ) we charge an extra $100 holiday fee. We do this rather than raise our nightly prices and to tip our cleaners. Guests will get a request for this fee the week before your check in - in the Airbnb resolution tab - it is not included in initial booking fee.
Flower Farm picking by Owner out in the field behind house may occur during guests stay but will not interrupt the privacy of the guests.

Please keep in mind this home is in the country so you may see an occasional stink bug or spider or fly. This is all part of living out in the country. We have a regular Pest service and do our best to keep everything clean and bug free.

If guests have interest in flower picking… they can request their own free opportunity to pick fresh flowers. 🌺
If you like exploring in the woods, there’s also a path to the right behind the house that you can go back into the woods for a little walk .

antiquing at the Strasburg Emporium, and less than 3 miles from the Shenandoah River.
