On the edge of the city park "Raddas," with lots of greenery around and yet in the middle of the old town of Bergen auf Rügen, we have in recent years converted our farm building, built in 1899 as a stallion stable, into a vacation home. From an ecological point of view, with a lot of love for the historical details and unusual solutions, it was completed piece by piece with the great personal commitment of the family.
The space
On the ground floor, an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen and a shower room were created in the former horse boxes. In the former hayloft on the upper floor there are three bedrooms with double beds and a bathtub. The entrance area is preceded by a stone terrace, on the south side there is a wooden sun terrace.

Amenities
The 115 m² house can accommodate up to six guests in three bedrooms. In the open living area (with smart TV), a cast-iron stove is installed for cozy fireplace evenings between the couch corner and dining area, which can be used if you are interested. The open-plan kitchen with good equipment (electric stove with ceramic cooktop, dishwasher, large fridge, coffee maker) invites you to cook together. Fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and on the terraces.
A lockable bicycle room in the outdoor area offers space for bicycles brought along. There are also various garden furniture, their cushions as well as some beach and garden games such as beach ball, croquet or Viking chess.
The garden – close to nature and edible
Our garden, which is partly on a hillside, offers plenty of space and is being developed to be natural and edible. Herbs such as peppermint, thyme, sage, rosemary, lavender, etc. and berries (currants, gooseberries and blackberries) may be picked and tasted. A bee- and butterfly-friendly meadow and a flowering fence have already been planted. In addition to the terraces by the house, there is another terrace in the meadow area, which can also be used and should be accessed via the meadow. The old wooden staircase in front – a relic from the former horse stable – can be seen as an art installation and can only be used at your own risk.
On another part of our property, which is separated by garden design, there is also the children's workshop "Phantasilie", a privately run kindergarten with 12-14 children who like to play in a part of the 7,000 m² garden. So, from time to time, you can expect boisterous children's laughter.
Guest access
In the holiday home, all rooms are available to guests except for a small storage room under the stairs. The garden areas with terraces and bicycle sheds in the immediate vicinity as well. The open spaces of the kindergarten and the courtyard area between the main house and the holiday home are exclusively available to the kindergarten and the residents of the main house.
