On the edge of the city park "Raddas", with lots of greenery around and yet in the middle of the old town of Bergen auf Rügen, we have converted our courtyard building built in 1899 as a stallion stable into a holiday home. From an ecological point of view, with a lot of love for the historical details and unusual solutions, it was completed in pieces with the family's great commitment.
The space
On the ground floor, an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen and a shower room were created in the former horse boxes. In the former hayloft upstairs, there are three bedrooms with double beds, and a bathtub. A stone terrace is located in front of the entrance area, on the south side is a wooden sun terrace.

Facilities
Space in the almost 115m2 house will find up to six guests in three bedrooms. In the open living area (with smart TV), a cast-iron oven is installed for cozy fireplace evenings between the couch corner and dining area, which can be used if interested. The open kitchen with good equipment (electric stove with ceramic hob, dishwasher, large fridge, coffee maker) invites you to cook together. Fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the house as well as on the terraces.
A lockable outdoor bike room offers space for bicycles brought with you. There are also various garden furniture, their runs as well as some beach and garden games such as beachball, croquet or Viking chess.
The garden – close to nature and edible
Our partially hillside garden offers plenty of space and is developed close to nature and edible. Herbs such as peppermint, thyme, sage, rosemary, lavender, etc. and berries (Johannis, sting and blackberries) may be picked and tasted. A bee and butterfly-friendly meadow and a blooming fence have already been planted. In addition to the terraces at the house, there is another terrace in the meadow area, which can also be used and should be accessed via the meadow. The upstream old wooden staircase – a relic from the former horse stable – can be seen as an art installation and can only be used at your own risk.
On another, garden designer part of our property is also the children's workshop “Phantasilie”, a privately run kindergarten with 12-14 children who like to play in a partial area of the 7,000 m² garden. So from time to time it is to be expected with exuberant children's laughter.
Guest access
In the cottage, all rooms are available to the guests except for a small storage room under the stairs. The garden areas with terraces and bicycle sheds in the immediate vicinity as well. The open spaces of the kindergarten and the courtyard area between the main house and the holiday home are exclusively available to the kindergarten and the residents of the main house.

Getting there
Bergen auf Rügen is an ideal starting point to explore the island as a centrally located "island capital". Especially cycling or hiking tourists can start beautiful tours to the diverse cultural and scenic sights of Rügen from here.
A car-free arrival is easily possible by train. The Bergen train station is about 900 m as the crow flies, so you can also reach us on foot with little luggage. For a lot of luggage, a taxi transfer from the Bergener train station is available. Of course, you can also arrive by car. A parking space is available for the guests on the property Raddasblick 2 in the immediate vicinity.
For the cyclists
Next to the cottage there is a lockable bicycle shed where the batteries of e-bikes can also be charged. An air pump and basic equipment for tools are also available.
Bergen is a great starting point to explore the island on cycling and hiking tours. Depending on your needs, great day, half-day or shorter tours can be planned in all directions of the island.
