Self check-in

Check yourself in with the smartlock.
Top-floor 3-bedroom oceanview penthouse at Vereda del Mar — a quiet gated complex in Río Grande on Puerto Rico's east coast. The beach (Playa Las Picüas) is right in front, El Yunque rainforest is 15 minutes away, Luquillo's famous food kiosks 10. Sleeps 6 — king, queen, and twin bunks — with a private terrace overlooking the pool and ocean, two dedicated parking spots, keyless smart-lock entry, and 24/7 gated security.

The space
The unit is the top-floor corner — a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath two-story layout with balconies on both levels, including a private upper terrace with views of the pool and ocean.

The main level holds the kitchen, dining, and living areas — with double-height ceilings at 16 feet — plus a half bath. All three bedrooms are upstairs: the master with a king bed, ensuite full bath, and private balcony; a second bedroom with a queen and its own private balcony; and a third with twin bunk beds. A second full bathroom serves the queen and bunk rooms. Sleeps 6 total.

The kitchen is fully equipped: refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, espresso machine, drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, and full cookware and dishware for the unit's full occupancy. Linens and towels are provided.

Four AC units cover the unit — one main unit above the stairs serving the living areas, plus individually-controlled units in each bedroom. Every bedroom and the living room has a smart TV.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the unit and the private terrace. Two dedicated parking spots are reserved for this unit — no shuffling for spots and no street parking required.

The complex is gated and patrolled by 24/7 security. Inside the grounds you'll have access to the shared pool and gardens at Vereda del Mar. Beach access (Playa Las Picüas) is a short walk through the complex.

The unit uses a Schlage Encode Plus keyless smart lock — a custom code is sent to you the day before arrival, no key handoff needed.

The complex's gate guard takes a lunch break from 1–2pm daily. If your arrival falls in that window, I'll send you the gate remote ahead of time so you can self-enter without waiting.

Other things to note
A few things worth knowing in advance:

Stairs: this is a walk-up building — no elevator. The unit is on the top floor; guests climb stairs to reach it. Handrails are present.

Security cameras: there is a Ring doorbell camera at the front door covering the unit entryway and the adjacent hallway.

Gate guard schedule: complex security takes a lunch break from 1–2pm daily. Arrivals in that window need the gate remote, which guests receive in advance.

Power reliability: Puerto Rico's electrical grid experiences periodic outages, especially during summer storms and hurricane season. The unit has flashlights, emergency lights, and battery backups for essentials during shorter outages. Air conditioning is grid-dependent; for longer outages, the building's beachfront location and elevated terrace provide natural cross-ventilation through the unit. The complex's gated security is staffed around the clock regardless of grid status. Most outages are brief.

Where you’ll be

Zarzal, Río Grande, Puerto Rico

Vereda del Mar sits at the eastern end of the Las Picüas strip in Río Grande, on Puerto Rico's northeast coast. The complex is the last one before the point — quiet, residential, predominantly owners and long-term renters rather than party rentals.

Playa Las Picüas, directly in front of the property, is a wide stretch of golden sand with reliable swimmable surf (but beware rip current warnings). To the east, the beach extends to a small rocky point you can walk to at low tide. Walking west along the beach for about 15 minutes takes you to the Wyndham Grand Río Mar resort, where you can grab drinks at the beach bar without being a guest.

Luquillo Beach — and the famous food kiosks lining the highway — is a ten-minute drive. El Yunque National Forest (the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System) is fifteen minutes inland. Old San Juan is 35–40 minutes west.
