Our cozy country retreat is a 700 sq ft, 1 king bed, 1 bathroom house above a garage on 5 acres at the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. Enjoy beautiful views of the mountain valley and wildlife sighting from the deck or hot tub. 15 minutes to Sequim, 35 minutes to Port Angeles, and 40 minutes to Port Townsend. So close to these towns but a world away. The entrance staircase has 13 steps. No cell reception for most carriers but we have strong starlink wifi.

The space
Small light filled 700 square foot above garage house with 1 king bed in bedroom, 1 bathroom, full kitchen, small living room with pullout couch that turns into queen bed, Starlink wifi, Smart TV with netflix and hbo, deck and hot tub with mountain views. Our space is small, and most comfortable for 2 people but will fit 3 people. Our property sits on 5 private acres in the Olympic foothills down a private country dirt road. There are only a few other neighbors on the road, and each neighbor has at least 5 acres and is very quiet and respectful.

*The mountain valley is generally bug-free Nov-April. May-October can be very buggy since we are so close to wilderness.
**Most phone carriers won't have cell reception at the house but we have strong starlink internet that can be used for calling.

**There is no cell reception the last 7 minutes of the drive so make sure to program the house address in GPS before then.

***Disclaimer: Our house is on a VERY dog-friendly road! We share the private road with a highly rated dog boarding and grooming business, and when you drive down the private dirt road, excited dogs may bark at your car from behind their fence as you pass by. Also, the neighbors before our house have a few dogs that like to run out to the road occasionally and bark at passing vehicles.

There is the occasional chorus of dogs barking across the valley that passes as they react to wildlife. This is the life of country dogs!

In general, this remote corner of the mountains is incredibly peaceful. However, if you think the aforementioned disclaimers will be an issue, then this might not be the best place for your retreat.

Other things to note
Guests will NOT have access to the hot tub for bookings between Feb 10-20th for repairs. We apologize for any inconvenience. **Guests booking in winter MUST have all wheel drive or 4-wheel vehicles with traction tires. Guests must carry chains. The driveway and short dirt road leading to the house are NOT plowed or shoveled in the winter. The area sees frequent snow fall in winter**Olympic Sky Haus lies in a quiet, peaceful valley with quiet and respectful neighbors. We ask that you always mind noise levels outside and do not play loud music. We hope to keep this a nature-focused experience.

Neighborhood highlights

Quiet country neighborhood in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. Olympic Sky Haus sits on 5 acres on a private road shared by neighbors. We have 3 neighbors on the road (one of which is a great dog boarding and grooming business) each neighbor has at least 5 acres. You can occasionally hear dogs barking from the neighbors and the dog boarding business when you are standing outside on the property. Neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves.
