Beautiful area
Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Mountain and valley views
Soak up the views during your stay.
A cosy hideaway for two in a beautiful scenic spot on a working hill farm at the foot of the Angus Glens.
In traditional bothy style, the bed and living/dining area are in one room, with a separate galley kitchen and shower room.
With a wood burning stove, small enclosed garden with panoramic views and easy walks from the door, it’s an ideal place to switch off with fresh air and a good book. Also a great base for walking, cycling, golf, skiing and exploring central Scotland.
Dogs welcome.
The space
The bothy is a simple but cosy traditional stone cottage in a row of five farm cottages overlooking fields and woodland.
Once it was where itinerant workers would have stayed when working on the farm, all eating, sleeping and singing bothy ballads together. Now it’s studio-style accommodation for two with a big comfy king size bed, a small two-seater sofa, dining table and wood burning stove in the main room, with a separate galley kitchen and a shower room with an electric shower.
The small garden is enclised (suitable for dogs) and has a table for two to enjoy breakfast or a sundowner with a view.
From the bothy you can take short strolls from the doorstep, or explore further with a number of walks in the Angus glens and up to Glenshee.
Guest access
You will have your own self-contained accommodation (one main room with bedroom/living/dining + kitchen + shower room) with private entrance. You can walk around the farm and explore the farm tracks, see the sheep, deer, birdlife and wildlife and sometimes lambs and ponies.
Other things to note
The Bothy is in a lovely peaceful spot at the foot of Glenisla, away from the busy rush of life. We would recommend having a car as there is no local public transport. There are shops within 20 minutes by car.
We have a slight quirk when it comes to electricity to keep our nightly pricing down.
£5/day of electricity is included in your stay. This covers most typical usage, and we believe this is the fairest way to do this as some guests choose to use alot of electricity and others not as much, and it allows us to keep our nightly price down.
There is a wood burning stove and plenty of logs to keep you cosy on cooler days.
It is a working farm so you may see and hear daily activity. You may also enjoy seeing the deer, sheep and sometimes Highland Cattle, as well as other birdlife and wildlife.
