MUNI is a budget-friendly hostel that is only a 2-minute drive or commute to San Juan, Elyu's surfing spots, restaurants, cafés, bars, and famous establishments.
If you want a more peaceful visit to the beach, there is also a less populated area which is only a 2-minute walk from the hostel.
Since we're located along the national highway, we're very accessible for commuters. Jeepneys, buses, and tricycles are available right outside the hostel.
The space
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Rooms 1, 2 and 3 are on the first floor of the hostel. Rooms 4 and 5 are on the second floor. The shared kitchen and two toilet and baths are on the first floor, and the shower rooms are on the second floor.

• LOCATION
Muni is only a 2-minute drive to San Juan, Elyu's surfing spots, restaurants, cafes, bars, and other famous establishments. If you want a more peaceful visit to the beach, there is also a less populated area which is only a few minutes walk from the unit. Here are some of the nearby famous restos & cafés: Kabsat, Flotsam & Jetsam, Tavern by the Sea, Tagpuan, El Union, Mad Monkeys, Sebay, Kermit La Union, Sabong Fried Chicken, Masa Bakehouse, etc, etc, etc! We provide a complete list and Elyu guidebooks to booked guests. Also, please take note that Muni Hostel is located inside a commercial building, ground floor.
• NUMBER OF GUESTS
Muni Hostel - Room 4 can comfortably house two guests, but you may squeeze in up to two more guests for an additional fee. The additional guest/s will be provided with a single mattress, pillow, blanket, towel, coffee, and dental kit. Take note that this room can only house a maximum of four guests (strictly). Lastly, please make sure to declare the correct number of guests arriving, so Airbnb can adjust the nightly rate accordingly.
• SHARED KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS
A fully-equipped shared kitchen is available for use in Muni Hostel. Basic cooking is allowed. As for the bathrooms, there are a total of four bathrooms (two toilet and baths on the ground floor, and two shower rooms on the second floor). There's no hot water in the bathrooms, but you may use the electric kettle in the kitchen to heat water.
• TRANSPORTATION
All kinds of transportation are available just outside the hostel (buses, jeepneys, tricycles). Jeepney fare to San Juan is 13/head, and tricycle fare is 20-35/head, depending on how many people will ride the tricycle.
• POTENTIAL FOR NOISE
Take note that since we're located along the national highway, vehicle noise can be heard in the hostel. On a positive note, we're very accessible for commuters since jeepneys, buses, and tricycles are available just in front of the hostel.
• PARKING
We currently do not have a reserved parking slot for guests, only the street parking across our hostel. Park at your own risk. The management will not be responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles.
• LAUNDROMAT, CONVENIENCE STORES, KARINDERYAS
There are a lot of sari-sari stores in the area. There is also a 7/11 nearby, just a 2-minute drive from Muni. In case you need to do your laundry, there is also a laundromat nearby. If you want affordable food options, there are about five karinderyas just steps away from our hostel.
• CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in time starts at 2PM, and check-out is strictly on or before 12NN. We allow early check-ins and late check-outs for a fee (Php 150 per hour). But if the unit is fully-booked, guests need to STRICTLY follow the check-in and check-out times, or there will be penalties.
• SECURITY CAMERA/CCTV
A friendly reminder/disclosure that we do have a security camera placed at the entrance and hallways of the hostel for security purposes.
• NO SMOKING
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside MUNI Hostel under any circumstances. If you need to smoke, please go outside.
• NO PETS ALLOWED
Bringing of pets is not allowed. As much as we want to accommodate guests with pets, some travellers may have pet allergies.
• NO UNREGISTERED GUESTS ALLOWED
Only registered guests are allowed in the hostel. Guests are not allowed to exceed the total number of people they booked. If caught letting visitors in, penalties will be imposed.
• NOISE CURFEW
Please tone down the noise between 10PM to 8AM to avoid disturbance.
• LONG TERM STAYS
For long term stays (ex. two weeks), we will change your beddings and provide fresh towels every four days.
• POWER INTERRUPTIONS
We currently do not have a generator, but in case of unscheduled/unannounced power interruptions, we provide rechargeable fans and lights to guests (don't worry because power interruptions rarely happen in La Union). In case there will be a scheduled power interruption, we always announce this to our guests so they could prepare.
• REBOOKINGS & REFUNDS
Before you book, make sure that your dates are final as reservation fees are non-refundable. Changing of dates after booking is also not allowed, since we will already hold the dates for you, and will no longer entertain any inquiries on your booked dates.
• FOLLOW THE HOUSE RULES
Any violation will incur a penalty of Php 1,000. This includes late check-outs, smoking inside the hostel, bringing inside unregistered guests, etc.
