Enjoy beautiful views of the entire Shenandoah valley while relaxing at the Mountain Top Family Cottage. Enjoy great fall colors. Only a 10 min 1/2 mile walk to the Appalachian Trail, where you can hike to historic Harpers Ferry. The cottage features a large living, dining and kitchen area. The master bedroom and the mountain view study provide beautiful Shenandoah valley views. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit and fire circle. The space
The dining area seats six plus. There is a drinking water filter on the kitchen faucet. A large wood stove is available as an optional cozy heat source. Wood to use in the wood stove is provided at no extra charge.

Living room: Large sofa with two reclining chairs built in. 65 inch HiSense Roku TV. Separate recliner and chairs for reading. Wood stove for cold weather use.

Master bedroom room 1: One euro style queen bed (has an extra layer on top) and one firm twin bed in the main bedroom, with a sliding glass door with a beautiful mountain view.
Ceiling fan.
Master bedroom room 2: One firm twin bed. The room has a separator curtain. Large walk in closet with plenty of hanging space and shelves.

Bedroom two. One firm full bed and two firm twin beds. Ceiling fan.

Kitchen: Large kitchen with traditional oven and range, toaster, basket coffee maker, electric kettle microwave and blender.

Dining room:
Large dining table with six chairs.

Bathroom: Tub and shower with energy and water saving shower head. Hair dryer. Suction attachment type shower grab bar available.

Entry room/ office:
Small desk with a desk lamp. Glass sliding door with a beautiful mountain view. 42 Gps high seed internet.

Laundry room:
LG washer. Kenmore series 80 heavy duty electric dryer. Long hanging rod for clothes. Ironing board and iron.

Deck: Glass porch table and four porch chairs. Large umbrella for the center of the table.

Grounds/outdoors
Large unfenced yard. Picnic table that is shaded. Fire pit/circle with benches to seat seven people. Firewood is provided.

Guest access
Lyft is available to the cottage. It is about a 6.5 mile, or some three-hour hike on the Appalachian Trail to historic Harpers Ferry. You will be descending into Harpers Ferry. You can take a Lyft back to the cottage, if desired.

Other things to note
During snowy or icy weather, a four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to access the cottage.
Some properties in the neighborhood have old vehicles on them.

Neighborhood highlights

Westridge Hills is a neighborhood located, as the name states, on the west ridge of the Shenandoah Mountain about six miles south of historic downtown Harpers Ferry. It is a rural area consisting of a variety of homes and undeveloped lots. Originally a camping ground for second properties developed in the 1970's, it now contains permanent homes and some second homes, including some RV type homes.
