Off the grid? Check. Fast internet? Yup. Beautiful, one-off Earthship design and furnishings? Uh-huh. And don’t get us started on the stained glass mermaid.

If you’ve always wanted to learn how good off-grid life can be, the Corner Cottage is just what you’re looking for.

It collects rain from the sky, generates its own electricity with solar and batteries, grows food indoors, and uses water three times before it goes into a planter outside.

The space
Just because it’s insanely sustainable doesn’t mean it’s uncomfortable. You'll notice there's no A/C and no heat in the Airbnb listing - that's because you won't need it. In fact, the rammed-earth structure, beautiful adobe interiors, and south-facing greenhouse will keep you and your buddies at a great temperature year-round, no matter how cold or hot it is outside.

Check out a quick video tour of the house by searching "trent corner cottage" on Youtube.

7 minutes from the incredible Rio Grande Gorge. 10 minutes to Taos Airport. 15 minutes to Manby Hot Springs. 20 minutes from Cid’s Organic Grocery. 40 minutes from the Taos Ski Valley. It’s not downtown, but you can get downtown in a hurry if you need to, where the town of Taos has almost everything you could need - from antiques to Walmart.

Enjoy the stars, the guitar, the full-featured kitchen, the turntable and bluetooth sound system…and if you really want to, the 65” TV (although most of the time it’s “asleep” underneath the TV Cozy).

The Corner Cottage isn’t a traditional house, but you probably already knew that. You should be more than comfortable here. But if you have special needs around water, power, accessibility, or temperature, please stay in a more traditional space. It’s highly unlikely, but you could run out of water or power if you’re not careful.

Please, absolutely no parties allowed. Violations will be subject to a $500+ charge.

Guest access
You'll have access to the whole house - just please stay off the roof and the locked closets.

Other things to note
The Cottage looks forward to hosting you. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the experience - we love to talk sustainable housing. And please - absolutely no parties. Thanks!

Neighborhood highlights

The Corner Cottage was built in 2008 by Earthship Biotecture, and lives on the north side of the Greater World Community, which is a private community full of Earthships - off-grid homes that collect their own water, generate their own electricity, heat and cool themselves, and treat their own wastewater. When you're out here, you're in another world.

It's about 20 minutes outside of downtown Taos, a beautiful drive that takes you over the Rio Grande Gorge.
