The “Orchid" is a masterly crafted 3 story cabin with lux furnishings, organic linens & amazing views of the Forest. We’re 2 miles to the village of Mindo, but far enough out to have perfect serenity in Nature. Clear & delicious, our water comes from a spring! Hire our guide for inspiring hikes on our exceptional, private trails. Join us for a yoga class with an expert teacher.

The space
Our cabin is a unique, tree level, 3 story hand crafted cabin in the middle of the cloud forest with great attention to detail and remarkable views of the forested mountains. Enjoy the well appointed and comfort driven interior and our incredible, private location. You will hear the songs of birds and crickets and the soft rush of the River, without the barking dogs, car alarms and loud music of town.

The ground floor has an beautiful open air kitchen with a dining table, surrounded by lovely gardens. Here is the enclosed shower and the first of two toilets. You can enjoy our hand made adult "swings".

The second story holds the bedroom with high end queen mattress, beautiful organic linens and a charming half bath. The large windows open wide to bring in the views and mountain breezes.

On the 3rd story is the kitchenette and lounge area with a single bed and a sofa bed. There is a kettle/coffee maker. Enjoy a few of the excellent local restaurants within walking distance and many restaurants in town 3k away. The cabin is for 4 adults only, no infants, no children. Relax on the 3rd story balcony and take in the breathtaking views. You can sip some excellent local coffee and watch the birds flitting in the trees at eye level.

If you are a nature lover or bird watcher, you will be thrilled. Our property is at the end of the road, surrounded by miles of forest inside the 1700 sq Kil UNESCO Protected Biosphere. There just aren’t many places like this left in the world and a rarity even in Mindo.

Our water source is an abundant spring borne on the property and the best water you have ever tasted. You will shower in it as well.

Enjoy our fantastic private trails from easy to challenging with astounding views of the mountains. Encounter a few of our stunning waterfalls, many tropical birds, guest often see monkeys. If you are a photography buff, you will be in heaven. We kindly request you hike with our trusted guide for safety, rate is $15 per person. Best trails ever.

PLEASE NOTE, we only allow our local taxi driver on our property. If you are arriving by bus or taxi from Quito, our driver will meet you in Mindo and bring you to our property.

If you are driving , please park your vehicle at the first gate and walk up. Thx.

The Orchid is free standing about 50 feet from the main house, but completely private. You will be in your own little world.

We have stunning private hiking trails with 5 waterfalls for hire with our professional guide. $15 pp. You can also book an authentic Finish sauna and a private Yoga classes, absolute beginners to advanced from an internationally respected teacher. Ask us about our “Wellness Mornings” ! We offer a private yoga class, a scrumptious breakfast, a fantastic hike on our trails and a relaxing sauna as a package! Please book these services a day in advance.

We are happy to do a medium load of laundry for you for $15.

The Treehouse is situated on our one 13 acre, private “Misty Mountain Reserve” which lies within the 1100 sq kil UNESCO Protected Biosphere, about 2 miles outside of the village of Mindo. The beautiful and popular Butterfly Farm of Mindo (Mariposario de Mindo) is a charming 15 minute walk down the country road, along the river. They also have a great restaurant open from 9a-4p
