Hello! We are Motoyasu and Renée, the owners of Mitsuba House, and are delighted to offer our traditional Japanese vacation home to guests from around the world. We hope you enjoy your stay!
＜ About Mitsuba House＞
■ Single-level vacation home built from exquisite timber by temple carpenters (144m²| 1550ft²)
■ Rooms: Kitchen, living dining room, 3 tatami room bedrooms, western bedroom, entry living room, 2 sunrooms, vanity room, shower & bath room, and 2 toilets
＜Eating at Mitsuba House＞
As our lodging is set up for "group social meals" rather than everyday cooking, we provide the following:
■ Large collection of dish and glassware for indoor & terrace use. Enjoy meals or socializing at the terrace with mountain views or in the dining and living rooms.
■ Appliances: Refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, rice cookers. While the kitchen stovetop is not available, guest can request portable gas burners and pots for cooking soup.
■ "Social Cooking" options: Gas BBQs for the terrace or indoor Japanese nabe cooking equipment available (no extra fees)
■ Guests are welcome to bring take out and other prepared foods

※ Our towels and spa bags can be used at the nearby Isobe Onsen (4 min drive) and other local spas
■ The on-site washer and dryer are used by the owners for towels and linens only. For personal laundry, there is a nearby laundromat, and racks and hangers can be set up for indoor drying upon request

■ By train: JR Isobe Station: 1.6km (3min), or
■ JR Annaka-Haruna Station: 1h Shinkansen to Tokyo. Car rental & free parking at station (20min)

■ Leisure, recreation and sightseeing within a short drive/taxi ride.
■ Isobe Hot Springs (1.5km): Free onsen foot bath. Hot springs & sand spa. Restaurants. River.
■ Day trips by car in Gunma & Nagano: Karuizawa Prince ski & mall (40min); Hiking & Myogi Shrine (10min); Lake Usui; Train & nature museums (15min); Safari Park (20min)

■ All inclusive: Futon set up and cleaning, BBQ or nabe equipment and more
■ Per guest fees include 0~1 year olds who should be marked as "children 2-12" when booking
＜Other Information＞
■ We offer in-person check in and check out for warm, personalized hospitality
■ As most groups like social time from the afternoon, and prefer to leave early in the morning to enjoy sports, events or sightseeing, our check in is from 3pm, and check out by 9am
■ In order to prepare for guest arrival, we ask that guests kindly fill out an online questionnaire with the necessary information
■ Guests are requested to maintain the peacefulness of Mitsuba's residential neighborhood, and respect the interior and temple-architecture timber building

Guest access
Guests have private use of the entire house, yard and parking area with breathtaking views of the famous Mt. Miyogi and Mt. Asama from inside and outside the house.

Other things to note
【Check-in】
In compliance with Japanese private lodging regulations, we have to make a guest list including the name, address, occupation of each guest. For non-Japanese who reside abroad, we need to make a photocopy of your passport. We will keep this information in a secure file and use it only to provide to the related Japanese government agency if required. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
【Meals】
❑ Appliances for heating take out and plenty of glasses and dishes for eating in.
❑ Gas BBQ grills and "nabe" hot pots for convenient group meals available upon request. Please understand that no other cookware or cooking is available.
❑ There is a very good local restaurant that delivers large meals for a very reasonable fee (no delivery charge or tip necessary). We recommend using their services or eating at the local hot springs or restaurants.
❑ Local produce markets and supermarkets. Gunma has the lowest cost of living of all the prefectures in Japan and offers fresh fruits, vegetables and locally-sourced meats. Please enjoy!
