If your plan is to wake up to the sounds of birds and the sight of wildlife, this is your place! Located just 15 minutes outside of town in the heart of the mountains - but still close enough to access the luxuries of Santa Elena, Monteverde and San Luis Valley. This rustic home is perfect for tranquil getaway where you can experience the cloud forest without having to leave. You can sit in the back yard and check out the hummingbirds feeding, monkeys and coatis passing through.

The space
We have an extra room with a double bed and full bathroom, this room is just around the house but is not connected to all the other rooms. The main house has two single beds and double bed, and will sleep three couples, or a small family comfortably. Also perfect for one or two people who want privacy and peace. We do not cater to large groups - max guests is 8.

Big glass windows in every room will give you the feeling you are outside in the forest.

Green Jewel is a small family-owned business managed by Melvin’s family. It all started back in 2015 with Melvin and his wife Saray. Their passion for nature and desire to share the beauties of the area with guests from all over the world, made them open the doors of their house to nature lovers. They’ve hosted over 800 guests, 80% of which were guided by Melvin himself to different attractions in the area, such as the Curi Cancha reserve, the Ecological farm in San Luis and many more places. With Melvin’s passing away on May 29th, 2021 due to a heart attack, his wife and children have taken over the family business. They are committed to delivering the best customer service experience to each guest that stays in their lodge. They’ll help you find a local guide that can lead you through the most interesting parts of Monteverde and its surroundings. A guide can create your itinerary, can offer tips on where and what to eat, what to enjoy and what to avoid. Melvin’s family looks forward to meeting you and sharing good memories with you!
