Mountain view

Guests say the views are gorgeous.
We invite you to be our guest at Sway Meadow, an off-grid, eco-glamping experience in the Southern Adirondacks, minutes to the Great Sacandaga Lake.

Sway Meadow is perfect for a spontaneous or long-dreamt-of getaway. Come stay in our spacious bell tent nestled in a beautiful meadow in the woods.

Relax, unwind, recharge. Cook over an open fire under the stars. Sleep in a queen bed with layers of luxurious linens. Cozy up with your friends or your honey and reconnect with nature and each other.

The space
The campsite includes a wood stove-heated tent, a private composting toilet facility, outdoor seating near the wood burning firepit, and a private solar shower (during warm months only). Potable water (10 gals.) is provided and guests are encouraged to bring their own beverage selection. Firewood is provided at the site and replenished regularly. We ask that our guests not bring outside firewood to reduce the chance of spreading invasive pests to our trees and woods.

The Bell Tent - Intended for 2 adults and up to 2 children. Includes a queen sized bed with cozy bedding, cookware, tea and coffee making supplies (bring your favorite tea and coffee along with you!), wood stove with wood provided, rugs for comfort underfoot, table and chairs, dresser and ample bedside storage. A large battery bank will be available for powering the fairy lights and charging devices. Recycling and waste bins are provided indoors.

The Outhouse - Rustic and cleaned thoroughly between guests. The facilities include a composting toilet, using recycled sawdust as the composting medium. Private for guests and emptied as needed throughout your stay. There is also a mirror and a wash basin outside the privy for washing up during warm weather months.

The Fire Pit - Cook up a meal on our grill over the open fire. Take a seat in one of four Amish-made Adirondack style chairs and set your drinks and meal on one of the tables nearby.

Guest access
This is a private campsite on our property. This site accommodates 2 adults and up to 2 children. There is one queen sized bed with linen provided. You are encouraged to bring sleeping bags and bedding for children. The camp is a 10-15 minute walk from the parking area. We provide a wheeled cart or a sled for ferrying belongings from the parking area to the site. We are a short distance to some local hiking and snowmobiling trails. Nearby Sacandaga Lake is also quite popular; there is easy public access to the shore within a half mile of the property.

Other things to note
There is absolutely no smoking or vaping indoors in either the tent or the outhouse. Please remove shoes on the welcome mat just inside the front door of the tent. No pets allowed. Service animals welcome.

Please bring any camping and cold weather gear, food and beverages that you would like to have with you during your stay. Guests may cook outdoors over the fire during good weather or indoors on the wood stove using cookware provided, or you may bring your own. Two 5 gallon containers of potable water and 2 basins are provided for washing and cleaning up dishware. A water container can be placed on the shelf above the outdoor sink basin in order to wash hands or dishes. (See photo).

Wild animals are present in the fields and woods. Guests are likely to see deer, fox, wild turkey and many other kinds of wild birds and small mammals. Coyote, owls and peepers (in Spring) can be heard at night.

We do everything possible to provide a clean and comfortable camp for our guests. Bugs and spiders will be visible at times. They are part of the neighborhood. :-)
