Quaint alpine hut in the Semmering area with drinkable spring water
Simple amenities; see photos! Photovoltaic system (only during the day), night emergency light with IR, two wood-burning stoves, one of which is a cooking stove, 3 grills, sun terrace or stable for 20 people, covered dining area for 10 people. Fully equipped kitchen, but no shower! - Hot water only at the stove.
Bring sleeping bags, bed linens, dish towels and towels, toilet paper and a garbage bag. Garbage is to be disposed of in Steinhaus am Semmering at the construction yard.
The space
Quaint, simple alpine hut. Three double beds, several single beds available. A single room, a large stable, a playground, a large sun terrace for 20 people, covered dining area for 10 people, hay benches in the stable in rainy weather for 20 people, carport for two cars, other cars can park 50 m away on the forest road. There is plenty of wood available.
Towels, dish towels, sheets and covers or sleeping bags, lighters, flashlights as well as garbage bags and, if necessary, charcoal and lighters. The garbage must be disposed of independently in Steinhaus am Semmering. Final cleaning must be carried out by yourself.

Attention!! Do not follow the GPS; instead, follow the directions provided, otherwise you will get lost on forest roads!!
On the S 6 to the Steinhaus/Spital am Semmering exit, then to Steinhaus, and in Steinhaus toward Pfaffensattel.
The forest road begins at the last bend before reaching the Pfaffensattel. A sign "Karl Lechner Haus" is clearly visible by the gate. (The easiest way is to drive up to the pass, turn around at the inn parking lot, and drive back one turn.)
The forest road to the cabin (3 km) is easily passable in summer; on foot, it takes about 45 minutes. When you can already see the Karl Lechner House, the path splits. Take the path slightly to the right downhill to the lowest cabin. A carport for 2 cars is available. Parking is also possible on the forest road towards the AV-Hütte at the bulge 10 meters after the turnoff to the hut and directly in front of the turnoff to the hut.
The keys must be picked up a few days in advance in Vienna, Graz or Wr. Neustadt and returned after the stay.
The main entrance is on the side where the fountain is. From there, you can open the other two entrances from the inside, then unlock the padlocks from the outside. Please be careful with the crossbars, do not tear them, but open them as easy as possible! (In summer the crossbars are not in use).
Other things to note
The kitchen is newly decorated and otherwise a lot has been newly adapted. The refrigerator is the fountain trough in front of the house, which is constantly 4 degrees. It is advisable to bring waterproof plastic containers. The bath heater and shower are not in operation because it is too complicated. Warm water is made in pots on the stove. It is a very simple, rustic alpine hut, i.e. you may encounter animals (e.g. deer, foxes, rabbits, dormice, mice, spiders,...).
Hygienic conditions must also be taken into account when there is no immediately available hot water! In the evening, it quickly gets cold at 1500 m. You have to heat up more often and, in winter, get up once or twice and add more wood so that it doesn't get too cold. No campfire is allowed, so use the existing barbecues. It is important not to burn the lawn, so use grills.
You need to bring charcoal, grill lighter, lighter, flashlights, sleeping bags, cushions, bed linens, hand towels and dish towels, toilet paper and garbage bags!
