Welcome to The Maple Grove Yurt!
Our newly handcrafted yurt at Finger Lakes Cider House is ready for 2025. This all-season, round cabin is nestled creekside in our maple grove. Every detail is custom- built by our Cider House crew. This little hobbit house sits on our 70 acre property: organic regenerative pasture, forest, strawberry patches, and apple orchards— shared with our grass-fed flocks and herds of turkey, chicken, pigs, sheep, and white angus.
The space
The Finger Lakes Cider House is a family of farmers and makers. Hard- working dreamers trying to leave this world a little better than we found it. We grow a wildly diverse ecosystem of organic, regenerative plants, animals, microbes, and ideas. We believe that soil health is human health and the roots of all our biodiverse products are in good earth. This place is different. Come visit us!
The wooden yurt is fully insulated and temperature controlled via a ductless mini split for comfort in all seasons. It is a studio design with one Thuma king size bed/ Casper Dream mattress; private bathroom. This 572 sq ft tiny home has a full kitchen, free use of washer/dryer. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, glassware, coffee mugs, dishes, cooking utensils, olive oil, basic seasonings, herbal tea, French press, and fabulous local coffee beans are all provided. Tap water is UV filtered, routinely tested well-water, the same we use at the Cider House. With a firepit and open-fire grill outside, we provide grill utensils, lighters, tinder, a kindling splitter, and firewood for your stay. No extra fees.
Check-in is contactless, accessible via keypad available any time after 3pm.
We offer a complimentary 750 ml bottle of cider (waiting for you in the fridge) and two vouchers for a free cider flight with your stay! All other services offered by the Finger Lakes Cider House, including our organic, farm-to-table menu and farm store are available for purchase during hours of operation.
The Cider House offers a year-round farm kitchen.... an estate farm-to-table eating experience with organic ingredients grown and raised on our farm or within 30 miles regionally. The farm offers a number of u-pick crops throughout the seasons, including: strawberries, apples, and wildflowers! Be sure to check with the Cider House for seasonal hours of service, u-pick crops, and special events, like Friday Night Farm Jams with estate BBQ (typically offered Memorial Day -October, but subject to change). Hours from November - May are 11-5pm with food service winding down at 4. Summer hours are extended Memorial Day - October. For other local recommendations, we have a great guidebook linked through the app!
Cell service can be spotty directly in the yurt- Verizon works best. Wifi in the yurt is pending. We have found that Starlink is not compatible due to position of the satellites and position of the yurt in the woods, but Wifi connection is available in the Cider House during hours of operation. Password provided with check-in information.
The vibrancy of the creek is totally dependent on our regional weather. In years with a lot of rain it stays vibrant all year; in drought years it may be completely dry. It’s most robust in the winter, spring, and rainy autumns.

Guest access
The Maple Grove Yurt is reserved just for you! Feel free to explore the farm and orchard as you desire. (See other notes about Cider House hours and services).
Sometimes you may see a member of our crew or the owners walking across the footbridge to access parts of the forest where we have animals grazing on silvopasture. Nearby maples are also tapped in the early spring. But the one or two members of the crew who are accessing these points will not be directly near the yurt itself and know to be very respectful of the rental space.
Please also be aware that the listing says that we are a 19 min walk from the lake, but that is an autogenerated field from Airbnb based on geographic location unfortunately, not public lake access. The closest public lake access is Taughannock State Park, a beautiful park with hiking, a famous local waterfall, and access to Cayuga Lake-- about a 10-12 min drive or Lodi Point, a beautiful quiet little park with access to Seneca Lake-- 15-20 min drive.
Other things to note
Be sure to check for seasonal hours related to the Cider House tasting room and kitchen to best plan your arrival if you want to enjoy food and cider tastings the day you arrive. We do adjust hours at times for special events— web searches do not always capture these adjustments to our hours so checking our website directly is best. Hours November - May are 11-5pm with food service winding down at 4. Extended seasonal hours Memorial Day - October.
The Yurt is accessible via keypad using the last four digits of the phone number associated with your air bnb account so check-in is available any time after 3pm.
The pillows and comforters we provide are goose down.
