🏛 Machiavelli Guest House is a modern 4-room guest house located inside "Palazzo di Pietro Carnevale a Piazza Dante", a Roman building dating back to 1886 on the Esquilino, one of Rome’s Seven Hills. Nestled near the ancient first walls of Rome, our place offers a comfortable base for exploring the city.
🌟 The apartment has been carefully renovated to offer a modern, hotel-style stay while keeping the charm and proportions of the Eclectic architecture of the building: high ceilings and large windows fill the space with natural light, creating a relaxing haven amidst the vibrant history of Rome.
🛏 Each room has its own private en-suite bathroom and a simple and functional layout, with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe and a mini fridge.
📍 The location is very convenient for exploring Rome. Metro A "Vittorio Emanuele" station is just 150 meters away (about 500 feet), with quick connections to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, the Trevi Fountain and the Vatican area.

You'll be close to Colosseum (15 min walk) and the historic basilicas of San Giovanni and Santa Maria Maggiore (10 min walk). As you explore the area, you’ll find centuries-old churches, local streets and lesser-known corners that reveal Rome’s layered history.

Guest access
🔑 Guests access the apartment through smart locks with entry codes and have free use of shared areas. Each room is secured with a physical key for maximum privacy. Detailed check-in instructions are shared on the day of arrival, as soon as the room is ready, and always before the official check-in time of 3:00 PM.
🏨 The property is located on the second floor of a building equipped with an elevator. Please note: there are 8 steps to reach the elevator, which has a door width of 60 cm (about 24 in) and an interior size of approximately 130 × 70 cm (about 51 × 28 in). The property is not wheelchair accessible.
🕒 Check-in is available from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with late arrivals on request. Check-out is by 10:00 AM.
Other things to note
In Italy, all guests are required by law to provide valid ID details before check-in.
A few days before your arrival, we will contact you to complete your guest registration online. This information will then be submitted to the local police authority and other official government systems.
⚠ Please note:
- Daily room cleaning is included and is carried out between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The cleaning team works on a scheduled daily round. If they cannot access the room during their cleaning round, they will not be able to return later the same day.
- The shared dining area can be used for snacks, drinks and takeaway food. A microwave is available for simple light meal preparation.
