This home is in a scenic location.
Recognized as one of "10 Unbelievable Places to Celebrate Airbnb's 10th Anniversary" by MillionMile Magazine and LUX Magazine 2020 & 2023 winner of "Most Serene Desert Accommodation/Horse Boarding Facility Southwest USA". Rio Rancho Verde is a 55 acre Ecoranch set on the edge of the National Forest offering a Western ranch experience close to Scottsdale in the midst of the Sonoran Desert. New luxury travel trailer, bedroom, kitchen, TV, BBQ, fireplace, 3 slide-outs w/breathtaking views.

The space
Rio Rancho Verde offers an amazingly unique Arizona experience with wide open spaces and miles of trails to explore. Miranda Lambert has shot a video here, VRBO selected us (one of 5 out of 3500 vacation rentals in Scottsdale) to film a social media promotion on Youtube, and Hulu (a cooking show) and Amazon Prime (a Western) have both shot on location at the ranch for ongoing series. This exclusive horse ranch/boarding facility is nestled in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, only 20 - 25 minutes from Scottsdale. Our property sits on the border of the Tonto National Forest, and is the perfect isolated, yet upscale getaway. We're committed to an Eco-Ranch lifestyle and promote sustainability, being mindful of the ecology in which we live and embracing the environment that surrounds us. We have an organic garden on site and you're welcome to help yourselves to the vegetables we grow (seasonal). Reduce, reuse, recycle and re-purpose! Bring your own horse, we've got plenty of stalls, bring your dog (sorry, no cats) or just enjoy an authentic Arizona ranch experience. Discover the inner operations of an exclusive horse boarding facility, away from the hustle and bustle of city lights. Experience the "behind the scenes" day to day operations of ranch management and barn maintenance, help us feed the horses carrots from the garden, take a roping lesson from our on-site expert (no cows involved!), sign up for manure management or rent a trusty steed at the stables down the road. The luxury travel trailer offers tastefully decorated designer décor with a combination of upscale Southwestern and Western furnishings and accessories with all the amenities. The open floor plan comes complete with fireplace, full kitchen and bathroom, huge shower, big screen TV, heated, massage Barcaloungers, queen size bed, huge closet space, additional pull out sofa bed, AC and heat, dining area (seats 6) and your own private built in BBQ patio that faces the Four Peaks Wilderness area. Enjoy cocktails as you watch the sun set and turn the skies crimson, take your morning coffee down to the barn and help us grain the horses or enjoy the sky full of stars over dinner on your own private patio. We're the perfect destination for a serene vacation while hiking, biking and exploring right out of our back gate - or just relax and refresh while enjoying a glass of wine as you watch the spectacular sunsets on the ridge overlooking the mountain peaks and desert vistas. We're secluded and surrounded by the most amazing mountain views, saguaro cactus and Sonoran Desert scenery and offer a relaxing alternative to the fast pace of city life. Walk out the back gate to miles and miles of trails, we're a short ride/hike to the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve to the west and directly on the Tonto National Forest to the east. The night skies are filled with stars and you're sure to hear a coyote or two howling in the distance. Take a side trip to the Verde River (9 miles) and keep an eye out for the wild horses that call this area home. There's a stable down the road where you can rent horses, and rental bikes can be delivered to the ranch for you. It's an amazing beautiful site, far enough out that you'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but only 25 minutes from Scottsdale and fine dining, galleries, shops and nightlife. Come join us at Rio Rancho Verde! If the travel trailer package is not available please see our other listings, you should be able to locate them from the map for this listing.
AirBnB is responsible for collecting taxes as part of your reservation. In the event that taxes are not collected by Airbnb then you will be responsible for payment of taxes prior to departure. Pets are welcome (no cats please), there is a $75 per pet fee. Were adults only January through April, during the off season kids over 12 are allowed with prior approval. We hope to see you at Rio Rancho Verde!

Guest access
There are miles and miles of trails right out our back gate into the Tonto National Forest. The Verde River is 9 miles down the wash and the Scottsdale Sonoran Preserve is 1/2 mile down the road. Thirty minutes away you can dine on gourmet cuisine or ride a bull at a local saloon, shop at upscale boutiques or enjoy one of the many museums or festivals in Carefree, Cavecreek and Scottsdale. Help yourself to the organic veggies grown in our garden and feel free to visit the horses in the barn. There is truly something for everyone at Rio Rancho Verde.

Other things to note
We are a horse boarding facility and we offer several packages that include a basic stall rental and various other overnight options. We have several indoor/outdoor barns with permanent and portable stalls, some covered and some that are not. It's a true ranch experience, remotely located but offering all the conveniences of Scottsdale and the Wild West towns of Carefree and Cavecreek, just a short drive away. Also, if the boarding/trailer package is booked, we have a boarding/bunkhouse package and a private 2 bedroom suite also listed on Airbnb, check it out! Two night minimum stay on all bookings. There is a $75 cleaning fee in addition for the trailer.
Please note that we are in a very remote location and it's very, very dark out here. If you're arriving after sunset, you'll want to print out our directions and bring them with you as there are no street lights and limited lighting at the site.
Also, ATT, T Mobile and Sprint can be spotty. Verizon works best.
We will forward directions prior to your arrival. Please print these out
and follow them as Mapquest and your GPS may lead you down a road you don't want to go.

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood really isn't! We live in a rural area, and our closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. Since we're on the Forest, our views are unobstructed by homes, traffic, commercial buildings, etc. We're on a well maintained dirt road and easily accessible, just far enough away from the city to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but only 20 - 30 minutes from fine dining and shopping.
Just a note, it's very, very dark out here, there are no street lights and limited lighting at the trailer as we're in the middle of the desert. We truly live in paradise and get to enjoy the best of both!
