Birdbox Lotsbergskaara is located at Lote, in Western Norway, at an elevation of 270 metres above sea level. With one of Norway’s most breathtaking views of fjords and mountains, you’ll experience a true sense of quiet luxury and a calm, relaxing stay. While you relax in the comfortable cabin, you might be lucky enough to spot deer grazing and eagles soaring just outside the window. The surrounding area offers plenty to do, surrounded by the landscapes Western Norway is known for.
The space
Welcome to Birdbox Lotsbergskaara, one of Skaara Living’s two exclusive Birdbox cabins. Birdbox Lotsbergskaara is a sheltered and private cabin with a spectacular view that truly must be experienced. The cabin has its own outdoor area and an incineration/combustion toilet for added comfort and privacy. Inside, you will find a double bed (150 x 200 cm), two chairs, and a small table. The cabin has a small kitchen counter with a fridge, a kettle, and a drain sink (no running water). A 5-litre water container is provided for washing hands, and this water is also safe to drink.
Please note that there is no running water; we therefore recommend bringing sufficient drinking water and food for your stay. In the fridge, you will find one bottle of water per guest. In addition, there is a bottle of locally made non-alcoholic drink for you to share, as a gift from us.
There is no access to a shower in the cabin, as there is no running water. Please read below for possible shower options.
Birdbox Lotsbergskaara is located about a 15-minute drive from Nordfjordeid, where you will find the nearest grocery store. Please make sure to buy food and drinks there for your stay. The cabin is located on the farm Lotsbergskåra, with free parking available around 50 metres from the cabin. We can also recommend ordering takeaway from one of the local restaurants in Nordfjordeid for an extra special experience.
The Birdbox is set in beautiful natural terrain, offering a unique and secluded experience. To reach the cabin, you will walk uphill for around 50 metres from the parking area. This is part of the experience: stepping away from everyday life and into nature. We recommend sturdy shoes and packing in a backpack or an easy-to-carry bag.
🚨 Please note: Due to the lack of running water in the area, the use of camping stoves and any other open fire is prohibited. We kindly ask all guests to respect this rule.
