Spring is here! Get away far from the madding crowd but close to amenities. Maximum 6 guests is non- negotiable. Flexible arrival any time of check-in day. Cosy wood fireplace. Gas braai and kettle braai in courtyard. Private and safe front and back gardens to enjoy. 7 minutes' walk to Glencairn beach and tidal pool.

The value you get at Akkedis House is second to none. Glencairn is a SAFE place to relax and enjoy your time away.

The space
Deceptively spacious house 7 minutes' walk to beach. No internal stairs. Unlimited fibre Wi-Fi. A King Bedroom with ensuite +study area and two Double bedrooms. Linens provided. Bedrooms are spread out for privacy. The kitchen accommodates several food preparation activities and has a dishwasher. A separate laundry area has a washing machine/fridge/ freezer. Gas and electric stoves give you options. Wood burning fireplace in the Lounge/Dining area to keep you warm on cooler nights. Electric wall heaters are in two bedrooms and a mobile oil heater to heat rooms quickly. The front and back gardens are safe and private. An all-weather patio leading out from the kitchen, extends the living space with a charcoal kettle braai and gas BBQ. Safe off-street parking.

Guest access
All areas. However, small children require some supervision outside the home due to stairs. Every effort is made for safety, but parental supervision is advised.
Note: there are cameras located on the outside of the house. The cameras are NOT wired and are a deterrent only.

Other things to note
Akkedis House is a non-smoking/non-vaping establishment. Smoking is permitted outside the house. There is an all-weather patio off the kitchen with seating for comfort as well as the front and back garden areas.
Booked in guests are requested to put out the garbage and recycling on Wednesdays. See Information Booklet for further information. Thank you in anticipation.

Where you’ll be

The area has been affected by pipe bursts due to old infrastructure in recent months. Akkedis is not responsible for lack of utilities water/ electricity in the area beyond our control. There is a likelihood that this may happen during your stay.
There is a small Anglican Church right opposite Akkedis House where Wednesday services are held at 9.30am. The ringing of the church bells will remind you! There is a community market opposite the 🏠 the last Saturday of every month from 9-2pm. There is usually a hive of activity preparing for market day. This is a close-knit community with an active Neighborhood Watch. Glencairn is a safe suburb if you practice due diligence as per house booklet.
