Lavender Cottage is part of a suite of terraced cottages at Gites Rue Du Chateau, with access to a covered, sunny, dining terrace, spacious gardens, woodland and a beautiful clear stream. Facilities include, a pool, BBQs and outside kitchen with dining areas and fire pit area. A boules area and plenty of space for traditional garden games. Surprisingly tranquil and peaceful, but within walking distance of cafes, bakeries, shops and market. Local activities include the Rejallant canoeing centre.

The space
Situated in the grounds of what was once part of the old Chateau estate, our cottages offer a little haven of tranquillity; a place where you will be able to relax and feel at one with nature and at the same time, have fun and make those precious memories. Our cottages can be booked either individually, or as a suite of up to four cottages for group bookings. See our listing Gites Rue du Chateau - Ruffec Airbnb or message us for further information

Lavender cottage has a good sized lounge area with smart TV, dining room with log burning stove. Kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, hob and microwave. Large king size bedroom, accessed via an adjoining twin room, ideally for young children. This twin room has no window but does get natural light from adjacent landing roof light. Upstairs bathroom, with luxury bath and additional downstairs WC. Please note there is NO SHOWER in this cottage. The cottage has electric heating which is included in the price.

Front door leads directly onto a quiet access only street and an internal door leads to a shared hall and laundry area which then gives access to a covered dining terrace, overlooking our extensive gardens and woodland.

During your stay, you will also have access to the two and a half acres of garden which includes a beautiful clear stream, running through an ancient lavoir with small woodland area. We have a lovely above ground pool, 5m diameter, 1.2m deep, perfect to cool down in on a hot summers day. You will also have access to a boules area, BBQ, hammocks, an outside kitchen with inside and outside dining space and cosy fire pit area. There is plenty of space for relaxation and outdoor garden games.

The site is gated with secure parking.

Every day you could wake up to the sound of birdsong, a running stream and hear the local church bells in the distance.

Described, in one of our reviews as, 'a beautiful place, with a fine balance between modern comfort and ancient charm'.

Anna and Ian live on site to ensure a friendly welcome and will be available should you need anything. You will occasionally see us checking the pool, maintaining the grounds and entering and leaving the site via a shared driveway.

Guest access
Apart from the hosts' private accommodation, guests will have access to the whole grounds and facilities, including woodland. Access may be limited to woodland, pool and outside kitchen during inclement weather and seasonal shutdown.

Other things to note
Some facilities are seasonal and weather dependent. E.g Pool and outside kitchen.
