The space
The house is located at the edge of the street leading to the church;

Lapège, 1000 meters above sea level, is located at the very end of the access road. So there's no traffic other than the cars that serve the village. The main street is very quiet as there are only about twenty inhabitants year-round. There are no shops in the village. You will find everything you need in Tarascon-sur-Ariège, including a busy SuperU, 10 km away. You will therefore understand that Lapège is a preferred address for lovers of nature and the great outdoors rather than shopping or long night parties in the streets.
Many spots to visit in the area, many of which are focused around prehistory (Niaux Caves, with original rock engravings, not copies) just in front of the village, Vache Cave below, Prehistory Park in Tarascon-sur-Ariège...
In the past, the fields above the village and up to 1200 m altitude were used for food crops and fodder production (carried down on the backs of men (and women)). Then the landscape turns into forests and moors. This means that on relatively short walks you have various views of the surrounding area. In general, we are really in the heart of nature.
Plenty of outdoor activities are possible in the surrounding area: canyoning, rafting, horseback riding, paragliding, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, caving...
