It is in the heart of a typical and peaceful hamlet of the Chartreuse mountain range,
at an altitude of 1000 m, that the Caroline barn is located, which we have transformed into a dwelling. The cottage is rated 4 **** by Atout France.

We chose to keep the exposed frame.

Large living room of about 60 m2 with kitchen, dining room / living room open to a balcony with magnificent views of the peaks. Warm mountain atmosphere.

Residing 60 m from the cottage, we are very available.

The space
It is a spacious house of about 140 m2 on two levels which has the distinction of benefiting from a night area on the ground floor and a day area on the upper floor.

It is located in a hamlet of Chartreuse whose inhabitants are called Carolines and Carolins, hence the name of the cottage.

On the ground floor heated by radiators in each room, you have:

• three bedrooms: a 14 m2 bedroom with a 160 double bed and two single bunk beds, a 14 m2 bedroom with a 140 double bed and two single bunk beds, a 9 m2 bedroom with a 140 double bed.

• a bathroom with a walk-in shower,

• a toilet,

• a technical room with a washing machine, water heater, meter,

• a small summer kitchen to facilitate your outdoor dining. It is located on a grassy terrace facing the surrounding peaks. Two tables, garden chairs and deckchairs will allow you to share good times with your family or friends.

Upstairs, all under the slope with the exposed framework, you have:

• a kitchen open to the living room. It is well equipped (an induction cooktop, an electric oven, a microwave oven, a fridge, a dishwasher, a sideboard with plates, cutlery, glasses, dishes and all cooking utensils).

• a living room of about 50 m2 with a dining area with a table and chairs, a sitting area with a sofa
and armchairs.

The living room opens onto a spacious balcony with magnificent views where you can have lunch.

• a small living room in the attic with a sofa and TV,

• a toilet.

The floor is heated by a pellet stove.

For the safety of your young children, a removable barrier can be installed at the top of the stairs.

We leave at your disposal basic food products (oil, vinegar, salt, pepper...) as well as tea towels, sponges and cleaning products.

A compost bucket and composter are available.

Check-ins start at 5 p.m. and checkouts start before 11 a.m.

Rental of 2 nights minimum and 4 nights during Zone A school holidays, linens and towels provided.

To enhance your stay, we provide you with books, games, toys, a raclette, fondue and crepe maker.

Ideal for couples of friends and also for two families with children.

For cleaning, we ask that you leave the house as clean and tidy as you found it. If you don't feel like doing it, we offer a cleaning fee of 80 euros if you stay at least 4 nights, 40 euros for 2 or 3 nights.

Guest access
You will be able to park in assigned spaces adjacent to the house.

Other things to note
Some of our expectations:

As we are very careful to preserve the peaceful life of our hamlet, parties with decibels likely to disturb our neighbors are not welcome.

For everyone's well-being, there is no smoking area inside the accommodation.

No pets allowed.

As the floors of the house are made of untreated natural pine, we ask that you take off your shoes to access the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living room upstairs. Thank you in advance for respecting this instruction, which will save us from having to re-sand everything.

In this remote area, there is no sewer. So please do not throw anything into the toilet that could clog the septic tank: just toilet paper.

Drone: we remind you, when using a drone, that flying over private areas is prohibited by law without the owner's consent. Consequently, over the entire hamlet.

Upon checkout, we ask that you leave the house as clean and tidy as you found it. Indeed, we do not want to charge an additional cleaning fee and prefer to have to deal with respectful and responsible people.

Thank you for your understanding.

Meet your hosts

Born in the 50s
I spend too much time: Mountain walks
Patrick and I, we have lived in the Chartreuse for about ten years and enjoy the happiness of living in nature in a place that fully matches our aspirations. We like to share with our family, our friends all the pleasures related to the mountain: hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking... We also love the ocean and its wide open spaces, which we visit regularly. We greatly appreciate the authentic encounters that give us the opportunity to share moments of conviviality. It is in this spirit that we want to welcome you to our beautiful Chartreuse and be welcomed during our travels.
