Nestled amongst organic vineyards, olive groves, lavender fields, truffle oaks and other regional vegetation, the Gîtes de la Crose (classified 3 stars) enjoy an exceptional view of the Mont Ventoux, the Baronnies valley and the pretty village of Vinsobres perched up on its hill. With no passing traffic, no neighbours and only the song of the cigales to disturb the peace, it is the ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries.
The space
Camille, the larger of two lodgings, is full of rustic charm and has three double bedrooms and one triple room. One of the bedrooms has a double bed (140 cm) and in the other three bedrooms, it is possible to configure the beds either as singles (90 cm) or as large doubles (180 cm). In addition to the bedrooms, there is a large living space, a fully equipped kitchen, a private shaded terrace and private parking. The 10m x 6m infinity pool is yours to use freely and is shared only with the guests of Mariette, the smaller of our lodgings (2 double/twin bedrooms) plus there is a large ‘terrain de boules’ to while away the time under the blue skies of La Drôme Provençale and a swing for younger guests.
Other things to note
Sheets and towels are included for stays of 4 nights or longer. However, for shorter stays we invite you to bring your own or they are available to rent for €20 per person. Please note that fitted mattress sheets are provided for the 180 cm double beds for all reservations.
We can accept dogs if certain conditions are met. Please contact us before making a reservation. We are unable to accept cats.

Vinsobres is a typically quaint Provençale village which is beautifully maintained and with many traditional stone buildings, a Protestant Temple and a Catholic church. Shops include a supermarket, bakery, post office and hairdresser and there’s also a bar and a very good restaurant, all available within walking distance (20 minutes) from the gîtes. The lively town of Nyons is just 7km away where you will find many terrace cafés, restaurants and all manner of delightful boutiques as well as larger supermarkets and other shops.
Vinsobres wine is classified Cru des Côtes du Rhône since 2006, the highest designation possible, its olive trees are part of the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Nyons, there is much lavender around but the gastronomic jewel, the truffle, is harvested in the region and accounts for 80% of all French production.

I decided to embark on a new life in La Drôme Provençale in 2021. I was fortunate to find 'Les Gîtes de la Crose', the perfect property - situated in a beautiful secluded spot with an outstanding view out over the Baronnies valley to the Mont Ventoux in the distance.
