Our loft "Himmelstor" in the lovingly converted attic of our ancient mountain farm is truly heavenly. Endless light, air and plenty of space to breathe freely. View from the two huge panoramic windows. For those seeking relaxation and tranquility and those who want to experience the elemental power of the Allgäu on the mountain in the Nagelflugkette Nature Park.
Ecologically, close to nature and artistically designed, energy self-sufficient, plenty of firewood for the wood-burning stove. Photovoltaic, WallBox for electric car/bike.

The space
The Lacherhof, an ancient mountain farm, is quietly located at the end of the access road, at 1050 m in the Allgäu Alps in the Nagelfluhkette Nature Park. The roof truss of the courtyard has been lovingly restored and many very large windows have been inserted, so that a huge, very high and lighted room with a great view of the mountains and nature has been created. The living space (80 sqm) with a large handcrafted solid wood kitchen offers endless space, but unfortunately no second bedroom could be separated without destroying the loft in its spaciousness. For groups of more than two people, guests must either sleep on the comfortable sofa bed or in the attic (2 single beds).

The Lacherhof is ideal for guests who are looking for peace and quiet and an encounter with nature around the house and nearby. Numerous hiking trails start at your doorstep.

We try to farm as ecologically and naturally as possible. The wood we use to operate the wood stoves in the house is from our own forest or from neighbors and is very well dried. Hot water for the radiators is also generated with a pellet heating system, supported by a photovoltaic system that also supplies electricity for our wall boxes, with which you can easily charge your electric car and bicycle.

In many details, we try to conserve resources. So in the Himmelstor there is also a soda stream sprudler with which you can liven up our excellent alpine water from the pipe.

Soap, detergent, detergent and cleaning products are made of plant-based organic raw materials and without any synthetic additives.

Guest access
Access is only at ground level from the street through the barn. Then it goes up a medium-sized staircase. The entire apartment is only used by you. Only the washing machine and dryer in the basement are still available to other vacation guests.

Other things to note
The price includes all fees such as visitor's tax and taxes, Wi-Fi, etc.

There is central heating inside the apartment. However, you can also fire the cozy fireplace yourself, wood is plentiful. The apartment is well insulated and is also nice and warm in winter.

You are welcome to charge your car at our wall box in the parking lot. There are also sockets for charging the bike.
There are no electronic devices (TV), but fast Wi-Fi (fiber optic).

Due to the many windows, darkening the sleeping areas is only possible to a very limited extent. Light-sensitive people should consider this.

The stairs to the attic are difficult to walk on. Any liability is excluded.

Neighborhood highlights

Hinterberg is a small hamlet with 5 widely scattered farms. The access road ends at the hiking parking lot 150 m away. We have recently become part of the large Nagelflugkette Nature Park. The Rottachberg is characterized by this agglomeration rock, also called "God's concrete," with its rocks.

Leave your car parked! In the apartment you will find many hiking suggestions from me and the alpine lake/green region with maps. Directly from the house there are numerous hiking trails on the elongated back of the Rottachberg. There you will find romantic, varied paths between meadows, rocks, steep mountain forest and a wonderful flora. The rocky Falkenstein with great views and summit cross can be reached in just 20 minutes from the house. There is also the most demanding and best-known climbing area in the Allgäu.

In summer, you can stop at two nearby Alps during an excursion.

The famous local mountain opposite, the Grünten, can be reached in 5 minutes by car, on foot in an hour, the ascent takes 2 to 3 hours. From there you have a great view from the Zugspitze to Lake Constance.

The large Rottachsee (5 km long) can be reached in 10 minutes by car or 1.5 hours on foot. There are three long beaches, mostly few people and heavenly peace, as no big road runs along it.

In winter, the familiar and inexpensive "natural snow paradise" can be seen from the house on the opposite slope at the Adelharz and Breitenstein lifts, about 5 km away. The Grünten is a popular ski touring area. The major ski resorts are 15 to 40 minutes by car. At our front door is a very active, varied small cross-country ski trail and in the valley is a long rather flat cross-country ski trail (both skater/classic). Unfortunately, due to the climate, there is no longer any guarantee of snow. In January/February/March, there is maybe a 60% probability that there will be snow around the house. In winter you can go on great snowshoe tours. You can go sledding anywhere around the house.
