Authentic rural cottage that can accommodate up to 10 people. You have three separate maisonettes that open directly onto a patio with a swimming pool for exclusive private use (the accommodation is not shared with other tenants). The configuration is ideal for two or three couples with or without children, wanting both privacy and conviviality. This century-old building is strategically located to visit Andalusia, an hour from Granada, Malaga and Cordoba.
The space
The accommodation is rustic and ecological. It will appeal to people looking for the rural charm of a real Andalusian "cortijo". On the other hand, the amenities are simple and the environment is rough. This cottage is more suitable for countryside lovers than for people looking for a high level of comfort and sophisticated accessories. That being said, it has crazy charm!
You have access to three separate and neighboring houses, all three located within the private enclosure of the building. The configuration is therefore ideal for two or three families, for example. Or three or four couples without children. Or just a family with children who want space, tranquility and privacy.
Each of the three cottages has the authentic character of Andalusian rural houses. Each maisonette has a ground floor and a first floor. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. The staircase is charming, but unfortunately it is not suitable for the elderly or disabled, who have mobility difficulties.
In order to preserve the rustic charm of the cortijo, we opted for a sober decor. The walls are white and rough. The wooden doors are heavy and dark brown. The decor is minimalist.
In each maisonette, you have an equipped kitchen, a shower room, a seating area with an open fire and two bedrooms.
Detailed room configuration:
- Maisonette 1: 1 double bed + 2 single beds
- Maisonette 2: 1 double bed + 2 single beds
- Maisonette 3: 1 double bed + 1 single bed
There are therefore 8 beds in total, but we limit the rental to 8-10 people maximum, for reasons of comfort in the common area and around the pool.
The building, typically Andalusian, is mainly designed for the summer, that is to say that the outdoor spaces are generous, and the interior spaces, a little more restricted. The living room, in particular, is small in each maisonette. With a few armchairs, here and there, but it should be noted that there is no large indoor living room that can accommodate 10 people (maximum 6). Yes, in Andalusia, we live outside most of the time :-)
Outside, you have five small, removable wooden tables, as well as 10 chairs and 8 deckchairs. You are free to set up a large table or several small ones.
A palm leaf pergola provides shade (about 4 x 3 meters). You also have two or three basic, removable, individual umbrellas, on deposit. A barbecue is available on the patio. The yard is spacious. It consists of a paved part and a tiled part (around the pool).
Each kitchen is equipped with recent induction cooktops and a fridge. Two maisonettes contain a small kitchen (with all the necessities, but little space to cook). The third, more recent maisonette has a much more spacious kitchen, with a large fridge, a traditional oven and a comfortable space to prepare food. Which is convenient for preparing group meals.
Dishes are provided (glasses, cups, plates, pots...). Accessories are limited to the essentials, in accordance with our values: coffee maker, lemon squeezer, blender, corkscrew, microwave, toaster, etc. Each maisonette has its own dishes and coffee maker. This allows for the privacy of families or couples.
The occupants of each maisonette have their own shower and toilet. The size of the shower room is small and the equipment, clean but basic. Except in the third maisonette, which has a more spacious shower room, adjoining a bedroom with balcony.
The Era is a place to disconnect, which does not have a television. The telephone network (in data) is generally efficient, which ensures satisfactory Internet access for most of our visitors. However, if you would like more intensive WIFI access, for business or other reasons, please request it in advance.
Linens and towels are provided. We change them once a week. A washing machine is available as an option (12 euros per wash). You have a clothes rack and clothes lines with clothes clips. Upon request, we can provide you with an ironing board and iron.
Regarding energy and heating, we encourage environmentally friendly behavior: the walls of the houses are thick and reasonably maintain coolness in summer and warmth in the off-season, so many visitors choose not to use heating (except during the height of winter). We provide extra blankets if needed. However, we fully understand that groups and families may prefer more comfort. For this reason, we have provided several heating options.
Heating OPTIONS available upon request:
- Electric radiator = 10 euros/day
- Wheelbarrow of olive wood for the fireplace = 10 euros
- Portable gas heater (with refillable gas cylinder, a very common system in Spain) = 20 euros per cylinder
- Set of several electric heaters to be distributed throughout the accommodations = actual consumption billed based on the meter reading at a rate of €0.3 per kWh.
P.S. These rates are provided subject to a sudden and significant change in energy prices.
Guest access
You have exclusive access to the entire property: swimming pool, patio, outdoor dining area, barbecue area, sunbeds. No other tenants share the place with you.
You have a large private parking lot, outside, in a closed area with a chain. 4 or 5 vehicles can park there without difficulty.
The owners maintain the pool and plantations regularly (once a day in summer).
The vegetable garden that is beyond the hedge and patio is not part of the rental.
