Perched above Lake Champlain, Koala Escape St Albans offers panoramic views, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and a peaceful escape in nature. Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, up to 6 with additional fee. A semi-private beach is a short walk away. Near Kill Kare State Park and Burton Island.
This is a classic VT lake camp, built and enjoyed by our family. The camp is fully usable and comfortable, but not fully updated. Ideal for guests who value location, lake access, and a true Vermont camp experience.

The space
This cozy bluff-top cottage offers everything you need for a relaxing stay overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain. Located on a scenic bluff above the lake, the home provides peaceful privacy and incredible water views.

The home features a private master bedroom with a queen bed, linens, dresser, and closet. The second bedroom includes a twin platform bed with a custom top bunk, along with linens, closet space, and drawers. A sleeper sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping space if needed.

The cottage includes a private bathroom with shower, along with a washer, dryer, and outdoor clothesline for laundry.

The living room offers comfortable seating with two recliners, a sleeper sofa, TV with cable, and a small desk workspace. A mini-split system provides efficient air conditioning and heating in the main living area, helping keep the space comfortable throughout the season.

The dining table seats four and can expand to accommodate additional guests.

The fully equipped kitchen includes dishes, silverware, pots and pans, basic cookware, a small stove, refrigerator with freezer, and microwave.

One of the highlights of the home is the large sunroom overlooking Lake Champlain, perfect for relaxing in the evenings and enjoying the panoramic lake views, sunsets, and starry night skies.

For cooler evenings, the cottage is also equipped with electric heaters with individual thermostats throughout the home.

A self-inflating queen air mattress is available if additional sleeping space is needed.

For your safety, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are located throughout the home, along with fire extinguishers in the porch, kitchen, and near the bathroom area.

Seasonal Note
This is a seasonal lake cottage perfect for enjoying Vermont’s summer lakeside living and spectacular fall foliage. Guests can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and exploring the natural beauty of the Lake Champlain area.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire home, private parking, and a semi-private beach located about a 5-minute walk from the cottage, along with breathtaking views of Lake Champlain.

There is parking available for a vehicle and boat trailer, such as a medium-size fishing boat and truck plus an additional car. Please note there is a tight corner when entering the driveway, so larger trailers should use caution.

Boat launches are located nearby at Kill Kare State Park and a Vermont Public Fishing Access Area approximately one mile away, making it easy to get out on the lake for boating or fishing.

Dock rental for boat storage may be available for an additional fee. Please contact us prior to your stay to coordinate.

Other things to note
We are currently making ongoing improvements to the cottage. While the space is fully usable and comfortable, some areas may show signs of updates in progress or reflect the character of a traditional lake camp. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to enhance the property.

Beds are not pre-made for sanitary reasons. Fresh, folded linens are provided for guests to make the beds they plan to use.

This is a seasonal lake cottage, typically open from late spring through early fall. Due to seasonal access and water availability, stays outside the listed calendar availability cannot be accommodated.

A two-night minimum stay is required.

The cottage uses filtered lake water treated with a filtration and UV system. The water is safe for bathing, washing dishes, laundry, and cooking, but we recommend bringing or purchasing bottled water for drinking.

Families traveling with young children are welcome. Please include the ages of children when booking. We may waive the extra guest fee for small children depending on sleeping arrangements.

As with most lakefront areas near Lake Champlain, insects such as mosquitoes can be present during warmer months. Guests planning to spend time outdoors may wish to bring insect repellent.
