A lovely footy house in Gemenc, hidden in the floodplain of the Danube. I punched it myself, paying attention to making most of the materials, accessories refurbished. You will live among old but charming stuff with a beautiful view of the river. There are a lot of toys (trampoline, slackline, swing, slide, ring) around the house, a fireplace, an outdoor dining area and hammocks under the walnut tree. There is a cultured compost toilet with almost zero maintenance. Private waterfront with boat.

The space
Luxury conditions and the use of exclusive materials are not typical here. You will live in a DIY but adorable little cottage. You can watch the events on the river from the window if you don't feel like walking/rowing around the area. It is recommended!
Since we are eco-minded, the surrounding vegetation is left to flourish. For this reason, as well as the close proximity of water and forest, the place is not recommended for insect phobics. The number of mosquitoes sometimes spikes temporarily in the hours of sunset, so be prepared for that.

Other things to note
- Tap water is not drinkable, but I provide 20 water tank with frequent replacement.
- You can only use the canoe at your own risk, with sufficient knowledge of the river. Respect the Danube!

- The resort area cannot be accessed above a certain water level. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee this, but it is an extremely rare case. (A few days every 5-10 years)

Our waterfront house directly overlooks the picturesque Gemenc forest, which you can explore by water or bike starting from our accommodation. The nearest permanent oxbow is the Vén-Duna (Old Danube), but when the water level is above 330, the entrance to the Méhészfoki oxbow on this side opens up as well, and above 380, even the Láda sandbank above it becomes navigable. Our is the ideal area for fishing, swimming, and exploring the forest. By bike, the embankment route to the neighboring town of Érsekcsanád—or even beyond—is quite scenic. :)
Our small town, Baja, is also a pleasant place, offering a free beach, southern Hungarian and Balkanic gastronomy experiences, and delicious fish soup.
