Located on a no through road amidst tropical palms is our fully self contained 1 bedroom unit on the ground floor of our home. Surrounded by native bush and wildlife you get to experience the real Maggie just 1.5km from the ferry terminal and a 3 minute walk to the bus stop.
Fully air conditioned or enjoy the fresh air and wildlife sounds by utilizing the ceiling fans throughout. Share our large private pool with gorgeous tropical surrounds. Off street parking is available.
The space
Enter via the private front deck which has a ceiling fan, table and chairs and barbq. A washing machine is also provided in this space. There is a clothesline at the back which can be shared with the owners or a clothes airer/stand can be found behind the washing machine.
The private kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, electric jug, toaster, air fryer, crockery, cutlery, utensils, storage containers, frypan and saucepans. The barbq on the front deck has a single burner on the side allowing for cooking in a saucepan or frypan. A small supply of tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided.
There is a 2 seater lounge and coffee table with a TV providing satellite reception (all free to air channels). Wifi is provided free of charge however being satellite it will be slower and bandwidth limited.
The large bedroom has a queen size bed with bed lamps, writing desk, chair and wardrobe with adjoining bathroom consisting of shower, toilet, fan and cupboard.
The bathroom has it's own external door to the back deck which is handy for after a swim. All linen is provided and 2 microfibre beach towels are available. A small supply of soap, shampoo and toilet paper is provided to get you started.
Your back deck gets the early morning sun and access to wildlife where you can see Curlews stroll past with their chicks at the right time of year. A small table and chairs are provided. Access is from the bedroom or bathroom.
The saltwater pool is shared with us, and any family or friends we have staying, and includes an area with lounges and seating protected by a shade sail. It is located out the front beside the carport. The pool can be used any time of the day or night however please avoid noise after dark.
A short 300m stroll to the bus stop, 2-3 minute walk, and you can get anywhere on the island. Bus timetables are provided in the unit. You can purchase a daily or weekly bus pass at a very reasonable rate.
We have plenty of room to securely store luggage before checkin time or after checkout until 4pm however we will need to be home for you to reclaim your luggage when you are ready so please check.

We provide free, off street parking right next to your unit. You will have the whole unit and decks to yourselves, we live upstairs. The pool is at the front of the property and is shared with us.
Other things to note
Smoking is permitted outside the unit provided the doors are closed. Smoking is permitted in the pool area.

We are powered by solar via batteries with mains backup.

My husband and I were lucky enough to purchase our dream home on Magnetic Island and would like to share our luck with others. We lived much further south and inland, still in Qld, on a farm and wanted a laid back lifestyle and warmth. We got both with Maggie. We are semi retired and I am always on the lookout for a snorkeling buddy.
