Spend some time away surrounded by nature. Kearney Cabin is close to Algonquin as well as several beaches, trails, parks, and amenities such as the LCBO, a general store and restaurants. Much more is available within a 20-30 minute drive, north to Burk's Falls or Sundridge or South into Huntsville. Whether you are looking for time to unwind, gaze at the stars in the night sky or go on an adventure, at Kearney Cabin there is always something fun to do. Any special requests please send me a msg
The space
Inside the Kearney Cabin
We lovingly call it Kearney Cabin but as you will see it is a modern and up to date house. It offers 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a stackable washer/dryer a kitchen/dining area, and a living room.
The primary bedroom has a queen bed, 2 night tables, and a charging pad for your device.
Secondary bedroom offers a bunk bed that has double mattresses and a small dresser. This second bedroom can work for children or 2 adults as the top bunk can support up to 300 lbs so can easily accommodate a grown man or woman. The cabin can accommodate 4 adults comfortable but a family of 5 can also fit with 2 adults and kids.
Kitchen offers everything you would need. Stove, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, specialty Coffee Maker, all pots/pans/plates/cups/utensils and even salt/pepper/olive oil and a few other spices. Dining table seats 4 with lots of room.
Living room has unlimited Wi-Fi with great reception from Rogers, a smart TV with Roku, and streaming channels are available such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc. There is also a blu ray and DVD player with lots of movies to choose from. A Bluetooth radio is available but has a hard time picking up local channels. You can easily broadcast from your phone to the radio. Pairing is quick and easy. Bathroom offers toilet, sink, shower, bathtub and a washer and dryer for your cloths. Please keep in mind the cabin is on septic and requires special dish soap and laundry detergent which will be supplied.
Working at the Kearney Cabin
The coffee table in the living room lifts up and makes a great work station while sitting on the couch. The internet offers up to 25mb download and 10mb upload so can easily handle regular work activities and even video conferencing. This may be affected by weather and number of devices used. Cell phone reception is good being better in some areas of the cabin than others. You should not have a hard time making or receiving calls.
Outside at the cabin
The property is surrounded by trees offering lots of privacy, especially in summer with the trees in full bloom. There are 4 chairs around the fire pit, but please check with the town regarding burn permits and conditions. No fires at all during a burn ban. Enjoy the BBQ, outdoor eating area, picnic table and 2 hammocks. The yard is an open area roughly half an acre in size allowing you lots of room to throw a ball, play badminton, or just enjoy the open space. We ask no motorized vehicles in the yard. You can easily park your car/truck and toys in the driveway and ride to the snowmobile or ATV trails right from the cabin.
Campfires at the Kearney Cabin
All fires require a burn permit which you can purchase at the corner store. Permits cost $2 for 3 days and they only accept cash. No fires are permitted during a fire ban. The city will issue you a significant fine for any fires during a ban.

Close to everything, Kearney Cabin is the perfect getaway. There are many local trails for hiking, different trails for ATVs or Snowmobiles, several beaches nearby, public boat launches and kayak/canoe rentals. Just over 20 minutes from Huntsville and Arrowhead Park, just over 30 minutes to 2 different access points to Algonquin Park. Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire cabin and property. The garage is a garage but we’ve added a dart board and stored outdoor games. Please supervise younger children if in the garage
