Stay in a peaceful 2-bedroom suite in a quiet mountain retreat. Ideal for families, couples, or solo travelers, it features a queen room, bunk room, private bath, and full kitchen. Access via bamboo garden walkway ensures privacy. Located in Quintas del Bosque, the property offers hiking trails, waterfalls, and a natural spring-fed waterfall pool 20 min hike away. Created by explorer Neal Petersen, this space blends comfort with the calm of the forest. Massage table included for wellness stays.

The space
You have a two room suite, bathroom, kitchen and area to hang out in that is the lower level of our 3 story home. The main bedroom is a queen bed for one couple. The second bedroom is a bunk bed that sleeps two.

There is a fully stocked outdoor kitchen with hot and cold running water, gas stove top, small fridge, gas BBQ grill, and all the utensils, pots and dishes to cook with. Just bring your food. It is undercover and cool with the breeze.

You will feel the energy of being in the mountains. Across the valley you can barely see the other houses. Looking out of the kitchen, you can see a small river creek downslope into the jungle canopy.

Jacques will meet you to settle you in and is around in the main house or gardens, so if you need anything, call for him.

Bring your swim suites hike out to either of our two waterfalls. The first is a 20 min hike and the second falls is an additional 45 min.

Also bring your hiking boots as you can walk more than 3 km of trails starting right from our gardens. They have breathtaking views of the mountains.

We have a second rental unit on the property and we live in the main house, so you may choose to interact with others, or be by yourself. There are a few communally shared spaces such as the BBQ area with another outdoor kitchen, and the gardens.

You will be living in indoor/outdoor living spaces. You may see tiny lizards, spiders, fire flies and various flying insects. Keeping your doors closed and windows that don't have screens on will help. Please put food away in the bins we provide and not leave dirty dishes around that can attract unwanted visitors.

Guest access
You have your own area with plenty privacy, but we do live on the property and you may find us in the garden or in our outdoor kitchen with its wood fired BBQ and clay oven where you are welcome to join us. We also have a second rental unit on the property so you may meet other guests if they are around. There are many paths around the property to go walking and exploring. You are welcome to come visit us at the main house. Please note that Quintas Del Bosque is a secure, gated, guarded property, not a party house or a place for loud music. This is a place to hear the sounds of nature.

Should Jacques provide any transportation service for you: it is your responsibility to pay him for his gasoline and for his time. He is happy to provide this service and help in ways to make your stay enjoyable, but, he is NOT there to serve you at his expense.

PLEASE PAY JACQUES FOR ANY SERVICES and TIME.

These are some of the services he can provide...
Taking you to the waterfalls
Hikes
Grocery store runs
Taking you on his motorcycle to town or other locations.

Other things to note
The mountains are cooler than the coast, so have something warm to wear after dark. We do get rain and some of the areas can get damp or wet if there is wind with the rain. We have many stairs on the property in order to access your accommodation. We strongly suggest that you stop for groceries in town BEFORE arriving a once you do arrive you won's want to leave to go back to town to shop for groceries.

Where you’ll be

Jarabacoa, La Vega Province, Dominican Republic

This mountainous area is really spectacular. In this region you can go white water rafting, paragliding and several day trips to places like Manaboa and La Cieniga, or to Constanza. Bring hiking shoes as we have now over 3 km of hiking trails on the estate where you will see beautiful sites. For the more adventurous type, hike up El Magorte, the mountain by us which will take 3 hours to summit.
Take time to explore, spend the day at the waterfalls on our property or other waterfalls in the region.

Where I went to school: Studied commercial diver in CA
My work: full time adventurer
I am an adventurer, solo around the world racing yachtsman, award winning author, motivational keynote speaker and lover of life. I live for great experiences and have helped in diplomatic issues and peace talks. Much time is spent mentoring young people including teaching macro-economics at several universities, sailing, playing in my garden and traveling the globe. My friends span all corners of the world. I have no time for drama. When visiting us I enjoy stimulating conversations and will give you a tour of our gardens explaining why I have chosen to create this environment. Some of my favorite places range from Thailand because of the great street food, cheap massages and friendly, smiling people. We love Cape Town, South Africa with its great mountains and beaches, vineyards and orchards and resilient, polite people. Portugal and Ireland are special because of all our close friends there. As a motivational speaker I have experienced many countries and cultures, enjoying the finest hotels. But we always add on extra days to throw a backpack on and travel like a local. I have had the privilege of experiences over 100 countries. I have also sailed to some of the most remote corners of our planet. Currently I am writing my third book based on our travels, people we have come to know and cultures we have loved. I will cover economic injustice, social reforms, what a civil society should resemble to how we can add to our world and create a sustainable legacy.
