The accommodation, renovated while preserving its historical features, is carefully furnished and is located in the historic center of the village, a few steps from the central square, the Convent of S. Francis, the Church of San Nicolò and Santa Margherita. Very quiet place, cool in summer, with alleys with breathtaking views of the Valdichiana, in the highest and most picturesque part of Cortona. You can park your car near the apartment, the center can be reached on foot in a few minutes
The space
NOT TO BE MISSED!!! The first week of June, Cortona offers an unforgettable experience with historical re-enactments, cultural festivals, and food and wine. The village will be the scene of performances by flag wavers, jesters, archers, and musicians. The climate is ideal for exploring the steep streets of the village on foot, enjoying the views of the Valdichiana, and relaxing on one of the panoramic terraces.
We want to put your health and well-being at the heart of your travel experience. For us, the concept of “Vitamin T” (time, tranquility, transformation) is essential!!! In Cortona, you can enjoy your “slow time,” and upon request, we can recommend meditation and Pilates retreats, natural spas, and nature trails (some experiences are available directly in the apartment).
The apartment is on one floor and is on the first floor of a characteristic building of Via Berrettini with the brick facade and exposed stones.
The apartment has free WIFI in all rooms and consists of:
large living area with sofa and Smart TV with Tivùsat HD and Netflix;
kitchen with oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, moka coffee machine and waffles, toaster;
two double bedrooms;
bathroom with sink, toilet, bidet and shower.
It also has air conditioning for a fee (15 euros per day to be paid on site).
We made the choice of air conditioning for a fee because the apartment is cool even in summer and not everyone uses it.
A second shower is located on a charming small private courtyard with access from one of the two double bedrooms.
Guests will also have free use of the laundry room, located on the ground floor, with washing machine, sink, clothes rack, iron and ironing board and large storage room with free cleaning products.
Both the rooms and the entire apartment are with a ceiling with exposed beams with exposed stone wall portions, typical of Tuscan houses.
The peace and quiet of the area give the guest the opportunity for peaceful and restful sleep.
From the accommodation you can walk in the historic center, visiting the historical and artistic beauties of the city; among palaces, churches, monuments, shops and landscape views. You can also take walks in the upper part of Cortona and follow trekking routes in the countryside and mountains of Cortona. Itineraries to be followed exclusively on foot or, in some sections, also by bicycle or on horseback.
Guest access
The apartment is entirely at your disposal and you can freely come and go.
We will welcome you for check-in and together we will arrive at the apartment.
To get to the apartment, we will walk together along the road around the city walls, enter the village from the highest part of Cortona passing through the town of "Il Torreone" and entering from Porta Montanina, thus enjoying the fantastic landscape of the Valdichiana. This route avoids the traffic-restricted zone, so you're sure you won't get surprise fines. Once in the village, we'll find the first parking lots that are from 200 meters to 50 meters from the apartment. The car can also be positioned only for unloading right in front of the apartment.
Other things to note
We can call taxis for your trips and suggest where to rent a car (better a small car for Cortona) with automatic transmission to move around independently.
Carlo works in a food wholesale in Arezzo and we give our guests the opportunity, upon request, to buy Tuscan cured meats (whole or sliced hams, shoulders, sbriciolone, salami, capocollo), fresh and aged cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano Casello 190 aged 30 months and many other Tuscan and Italian products.
