Welcome to Ilha dos Desejos — "Island of Wishes" — your own private island in the heart of Ilha Grande Bay, Brazil. We are approximately 2 hours from Rio de Janeiro and 4 hours from São Paulo. Crystal-clear waters, lush Atlantic Forest, unforgettable sunsets from our hilltop lookout, and the rare luxury of having an entire island exclusively for your group. Make a wish. It just might come true.

The space
THE SPACE

You're not renting a house, you're renting an entire island!

CASA MAR A MAR
A beautifully crafted wooden house nestled among the trees. Features indoor and outdoor living and dining areas, an equipped kitchen, and a mezzanine suite with a private open-air bathroom. The house is surrounded by decks with chairs and sun loungers overlooking the sea. The architectural design has been internationally published and recognized.

SUITES
Pérgola is a standalone bungalow built over the water, with its own private pier with armchairs and sun loungers. Seahorse is a suite with a deck and hammocks, accessed via an alternating tread staircase ("Santos Dumont staircase").

NATURAL SALTWATER POOL
A stunning ~400 m² (4,300 sq ft) natural saltwater pool teeming with small fish 🐠. The water is crystal clear, with depth varying by tide, reaching over 2 meters (6.5 ft) at high tide.

OUTDOOR AREAS
Expansive decks with sun loungers and parasols, surrounded by the transparent sea that encircles the island. At the top of the hill on the island's west side, a lookout point offers a privileged view of the sunset, a spectacular daily event.

CONNECTED DISCONNECTED

Ilha dos Desejos offers something genuinely rare: you are in the middle of the ocean with zero traffic, zero city noise, zero urban anxiety, and at the same time, high-speed Wi-Fi. So, you can answer emails in the morning and spend the rest of the day fully present: swimming, watching the sunset, listening to the wind. The only background noise here is the sea. Perfect for those seeking a retreat that balances true disconnection from everyday life with digital presence when it's needed.

WILD SWIMMING

The island is a natural wild swimming destination: you jump straight from the deck into crystal-clear open water. There is no ladder, no hotel pool, no barrier between you and the ocean. Visibility in the surrounding sea is exceptional, making spontaneous snorkelling possible at any time of day.

- Natural saltwater pool
- Hike up to the sunset lookout

ISLAND LIFE

The island's operation depends on caring for its natural resources:
- Our water comes from rainwater collection. Mindful use is appreciated.
- Energy is solar-powered with lithium battery backup (24/7). On very overcast days, moderate use is helpful.
- Appliances with electrical resistance (clothes irons, hair dryers, flat irons) are not permitted.
- There is no air conditioning. Fans are available in all rooms and the architecture is designed to make the most of natural ventilation.

MAY TO SEPTEMBER — THE QUIET SEASON

From May to September, the island is at its calmest. Fewer boats on the bay, clearer and calmer water, rare rainfall, pleasant temperatures, and the Atlantic Forest in full bloom. The perfect season for those seeking absolute peace, it also coincides with summer in Europe and North America.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

The reservation price covers the island rental. Please include the total number of guests in your reservation so Airbnb calculates the correct price for your stay.

The following are paid directly on the island:

1. ISLAND TEAM (chef + host)
Our team handles everything: the chef prepares all meals, and the host manages island operations (solar energy system, water pumps, kayak and SUP support, outdoor areas, and assistance to the chef). The team's daily rate varies by the number of guests, from R$ 300 to R$ 600 (approx. USD 60-120 / €50-100 / £45-90) . Please ask us before booking.

2. PERSONALISED MENU & SHOPPING SERVICE
Forget the supermarket run! The chef creates a custom menu, puts together the shopping list, does the grocery and fish market shopping, and brings everything to the island. By the time you arrive, snacks are ready, and drinks are cold!
Service fee: R$ 500 (approx. USD 100 / €85 / £75) or 10% of purchases if they exceed R$ 5.000.
Boat delivery fee: R$ 300 (approx. USD 60 / €50 / £45).

3. GUESTS & DAY VISITORS
The island is a naturally sociable place. Many groups invite friends over during their stay for lunch, a swim, or a full day together. You're welcome to receive up to 10 day visitors in addition to the guests on the reservation (from 8am to 6pm).
Cost: R$ 150 (approx. USD 30 / €25 / £20) per visitor, per day. Full access to all island spaces included.
For larger groups or private events, please get in touch. We host private events of up to 15 people.
