This home celebrates Eric’s sons: Larson, Landon, and Logan, all born and raised in Greensboro and all deeply connected to music, creativity, and home. Their stories fill this house in quiet ways: instruments, framed sheet music, and family photos woven into the décor.
The piano in the dining room is a special nod to Eric Hunsucker, who began playing piano at the age of four while growing up in Asheboro, North Carolina. His music has been a lifelong companion, from childhood recitals to professional performances. Today, Eric plays yacht rock and classical piano at Greensboro Country Club, senior living communities, and local bars and venues downtown.
Located less than five minutes from Cone Hospital, Downtown Greensboro, UNCG, and the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, this home sits at the center of Greensboro’s creative heartbeat. Guests will hear the sounds of ambulances, Grimsley Marching Band, traffic, or fireworks all part of city life in motion. Guests can walk to the Downtown Greenway Urban Trail, and skate park, tennis courts and more on the paved four mile loop Urban Trail.

We love animals and welcome them thoughtfully. Please read carefully before booking:
• Two-pet maximum. This home is cozy, and more than two pets can overwhelm the space and leave behind odors that are difficult to remove between guests.
• List all pets in your booking request so we can prepare the home accordingly.
• Pets are not allowed on furniture or bedding. If your pet likes the couch, please bring your own cover or ask us and we will leave older sheets for you to use.
• Guests traveling with cats must share their litter setup and containment plan before booking and confirm measures are in place to prevent litter scattering, clawing, or spraying.
• Pick up all outdoor waste and report any accidents or damage right away.
• Unregistered pets, excessive shedding, or damage beyond normal cleaning may result in additional charges through Airbnb’s Resolution Center.
We clean exclusively with professionals from Simply Organized and Clean, who use eco-friendly, low/no fragrance, non-toxic products that are safe for pets, people, and the planet.
🛏 Linen Care and Damage Fees
Our linens are high-thread-count 100% cotton, washed with gentle unscented detergent to keep them soft and allergen free.
If linens or towels are permanently stained or damaged, the following fees apply:
• 25 dollars per bath towel
• 100 dollars per sheet set
• Quilt or duvet cover TBD
Guests are notified of any charges before they are submitted through Airbnb’s Resolution Center.
🚽 Flushing Policy
Only toilet paper and natural waste should be flushed.
Do not flush wipes, even those labeled “flushable,” or feminine products.
Plumbing repairs caused by misuse are billed between $100 and $500.
🧹 Mid-Stay Cleaning
Optional mid-stay cleanings are available for additional fee, with 24 hours’ notice, ideal for longer visits or guests traveling with pets.

To one side is The Library of Ivy and Ellie, filled with memorabilia from Joy’s daughters, and to the other is The Idlewood House, available as a traditional 12-month rental.
Nearby, our own family home includes Grandma Dottie’s Room and Mamaw Uschie’s Room, honoring our mothers.

We are a small, local, non-corporate business that proudly supports Guilford County high school students with learning differences through the Occupational Course of Study (OCS) program. Students gain meaningful work and life experience by helping in our homes, a cause close to Joy’s heart as a former special education teacher.

The main floor and walk-up attic are accessible. The Garage and basement are not for guest use. The basement is creepy and has non-standard stairs. We don't lock the door to the basement door but trust you will respect our request to avoid going down there. The main floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and an entry with a coat closet. The coat closet has a rolling laundry cart with detergents and a few cleaning supplies. There is a mop and broom inside the door to the basement located in the kitchen. There is a shelf with extra trash bags. Thank you for being a respectful guest.
Other things to note
Pet Policy
Well behaved pets are welcome. We ask pet owners to manage shedding, pick up all pet waste, and keep the home clean and comfortable. A pet fee of 25 dollars per night applies and supports the additional care required when hosting pets.
Guests traveling with cats must disclose this before booking and share their plan for litter containment, claw control, and spray prevention.
Our cleaners use eco-friendly, pet-safe products and add extra vacuuming, sanitizing, and lint-rolling after every pet visit. Please bring your pet’s favorite blanket or bed to help minimize shedding and keep furniture fresh for future guests.
If your pet sheds heavily or you’re staying more than three nights, please message us so we can plan additional time for our cleaning team.
The location of this home is super urban. This is an old house. While we do have homes professionally cleaned by Simply Organized and Clean, a non corporate, locally owned cleaning company, between all guests, we can not guarantee a gluten-free, pet hair-free, 100% sterile environment. We love creating our spaces to mimic staying at the home of a beloved friend or relative and ask that guests please treat these spaces respectfully.
