Recently remodeled, this home is modern on the inside and tastefully appointed with everything you need for a relaxing getaway, including two king beds and special touches for kids and dogs! 15% discounts for weeklong stays!

The space
From the front porch, watch the sun rise over Dolly Sods and day break over Canaan Valley. In the evening, the sunset glows through the trees below, before dark skies beckon you to stargaze. Relax on the porch swing and watch for deer and wild turkeys, or enjoy yoga on the private back deck - a mat is available for your use. Once the leaves have fallen for the season, enjoy the view of Timberline Mountain ski slopes from the front windows. The serene community, bordered by the Dolly Sods Wilderness and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, contains two large lakes for fishing and several trails through meadows and woodlands with abundant wildlife.

The three bedrooms are spacious and offer different sleeping configurations to fit your group. Kids can have a slumber party in the big bedroom featuring a queen bed, two twins, and trundle. A second large bedroom upstairs features a king bed, and a twin bed, TV, and views of sunsets in the valley. Adults will appreciate black-out curtains in every bedroom, a thoughtfully stocked kitchen, wifi, cable/Roku, and a first-floor primary bedroom with king bed, desk and an en suite bath with walk-in shower. For canine family members, a foldable kennel and food/water bowls are available.

This home has been outfitted with families in mind, and boasts plenty of kid-friendly features including toys, pack n' play, booster seat, high chair, games, and many more extra touches to make your stay easy.

Please note: The fireplace is for decoration only and uses an electric insert. Unfinished basement has washer/dryer, and plenty of room to stash skis, snowboards, bikes and other outdoor equipment.

Please note: our main staircase is steep - please use handrails. Fireplace is for decoration only, but we have an electric insert. Refrigerator ice/water dispenser is disconnected.
Heating and cooling: While air conditioning is rarely needed, the central a/c services first floor, and upstairs have portable units we install by June and remove by the first weekend of September. For winter, upstairs rooms use baseboard heat.
In winter: 4 Wheel Drive required from October 15-April 1st. Snow will be plowed anytime 3 inches or more of snow falls. Ice melt and snow shovel are on porch in case of blowing snow. Parking is limited to three vehicles to facilitate snow removal (please let us know if you need an exception - we're happy to work with you).
Supplies: We provide starter supplies of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, and dishwasher/laundry detergent but please plan to bring those and other items you might during your stay.

Neighborhood highlights

Old Timberline is a gated community in the heart of Canaan Valley. The serene community, bordered by the Dolly Sods Wilderness and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, contains two large lakes for fishing and boating - please bring your own equipment, and note swimming is prohibited by the HOA. The neighborhood also has several trails through meadows and woodlands with abundant wildlife, including private access to Dolly Sods Wilderness.

Please have a list of everyone that will be staying in the house and vehicle information, so we can fill out the Rental Authorization Form for our community and provide to the guard house ahead of your arrival. Please be sure to follow all provided HOA rules, including speed limits and leash rules.
