In the beautiful artists' village of Groede in the south of Zeeland, we renovated our holiday home in 2021, including a sauna.
Modernly equipped and furnished in a shell from the 1920s and 1960s.
Groede itself offers everything you need for everyday life, including nice cafes and top restaurants and a microbrewery. The beach is 2.5km away and can be reached by bike. Bruges and Ghent can be reached in 30 minutes, Antwerp in 60 minutes. Surfing/kiting, horseback riding, tennis, golf in the area.

The space
The house was completely renovated in 2021 and is now a modern house in an old shell.
On more than 160sqm it offers enough space for 8 people and is ideal for 2 families with up to 5 children. 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets, washing machine, dryer, fully equipped new kitchen, barbecue, private / secluded backyard and sauna house allow relaxing holidays.

Ground floor: spacious entrance area; open modern kitchen; open living and dining area (table for at least 8 people) with large windows to the courtyard/garden as well as a fireplace and TV; Toilet and room with washing machine/tumble dryer, plastered floors with underfloor heating

First floor: 4 bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower; another bathroom with shower and bath and separate toilet; central heating and high-quality vinyl floor in wood look on the upper floor; Altogether nice and bright and modern furnished.

Backyard: sunny and not overlooked, large dining table for 8-9 people, lounge, bbq (you need to bring your own coal), sauna house for 4 people, lawn.

Garage: Enough space to store bicycles and/ or motorbikes. Table tennis.

Guest access

Basically, the house is very family-friendly.
Unfortunately, the garden offers few direct play opportunities, but there are playgrounds that can be reached in a few minutes by bike.
The beach can also be reached by bike in about 10 minutes via dirt roads and cycle paths with very little traffic.
The basic price does not include bed linen. These can be booked for EUR 14,00 per stay and set. Likewise towels for 7,50 EUR per set (1 large, 1 small towel per set) and tea towels for 6 EUR per set. Please specify in the communication for booking!
I have to collect the 2025 visitor's tax of EUR 2.15 per person and night separately, as there is no usefull solution for this in the system.

Neighborhood highlights

In the center of the beautiful artists' village of Groede. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area with a mix of holiday homes/ second homes and houses owned by Groede residents. The beautiful and cozy church square is about 2 minutes walk away and the small brewery about 150m.
All in all, there is excellent food to be found in the region. In Groede directly but also in Cadzand Bad, Cadzand, Retranchment and Sluis there are great restaurants including star cuisine, which I think is really unique for a Dutch holiday region.
There is a lot for families to discover, from the beach and play parks to the cinema and bowling.
As everywhere in the Netherlands, there is excellent cycling, but there is also a tennis court in Groede, a gold course in Oostburg, horseback riding on the beach and of course opportunities for water sports.
In the immediate vicinity is one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the region, which invites you to walk and watch.
Day trips to Bruges and Ghent (both approx. 40 minutes each) or to fashionable Knokke round off a great holiday week.
Some of the houses in the immediate vicinity are permanently inhabited, which must be taken into account.
