The space
Set in a quiet and peaceful location, the Hitching Rail Retreat is so much more than somewhere to rest your head. Take a stroll around the garden to see our windmill, outdoor bath, climbing rose wall, outdoor swing, and meet our lovely quiet cows and horses.

Guest access
We welcome guests to explore our property and take as many photos as you like, there are so many great photo locations including the outdoor swing, wind mill, outdoor Bar, around the fire, at the rose climbing wall and so many more. Be sure to tag us in your favourite photo.

Other things to note
Staying in our eco tents is an experience in itself, however this will only be the beginning of a magical holiday with so many unique adventures to explore around the historical neighboring towns. Some of our favourite parts of the Atherton tables are, taking a refreshing swim at lake Eacham; having a cup of tea in the famous tea house at lake Barrine; a coffee and breakfast at Gilles cafe; visiting the large curtain fig; walking along the scenic Peterson creek in Yungaburra (maybe even spotting a platypus); tasting cheese and chocolate from Gallo’s Dairy Farm; sipping on mango wines at Golden Drop Winery; enjoying an ice cream at Shaylee's Strawberry Farm and dining in at so many great restaurants; pubs and cafes, all within a short drive.
