Private bunkie, called Hillside Hideaway, on the lake in South Frontenac. A cozy place for two to sit back and relax. Enjoy a coffee on the deck, a drink by the campfire or spend the day kayaking or hiking. Available only from May 1st to October 31st.
The space
Inside Hillside Hideaway, you will find many amenities to make your stay comfortable.
A small kitchenette area holds all your basic cooking needs. It is stocked with plates, utensils, glasses, mugs, bbq utensils, camping pots, cooking utensils, basic kitchen linen, basin to do dishes, paper towel, garbage bags, kettle, small fridge, etc. Coffee, tea, sugar, salt and pepper are are supplied. For cooking there is a toaster oven and a BBQ with a side burner outside. Water is supplied in the form of a culligan jug. Good for drinking, cooking and doing your dishes.
Enjoy your coffee or dinner on your private deck or if you want to spread out, enjoy a larger deck with a full table, chairs and umbrella only steps away.
For sleeping, the couch folds out to a comfy double bed. All linens are included as well as a 4" memory foam mattress topper. Please note that the bed is shorter than average and is approximately 5'5" long.
Spend a leisurely day kayaking, hiking, fishing or just reading a good book lakeside.
End your day relaxing by the campfire.
The bunkie is also stocked with movies, games, cards, dice, puzzles and a few books for the rainy days or quiet evenings.
Firewood and kindling is provided at no cost.
The property is waterfront. The lake is very popular for fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding. It is a quiet little lake but does feed through to Sydenham Lake. Boat launch is a short drive away(approx 7km) if you wish to bring and launch your boat. There is dock space on site for a small boat. Water level at the dock is only about 2ft and by late summer it can be less.
Waterfront at Hillside Hideaway is not condusive for swimming. By mid summer it is covered with lily pads. But with a short boat or kayak ride (about 50ft) it is clear water with a depth of approximately 25ft. A new wooden swim dock with ladder has been installed with rope to tie the kayaks on.
Parking is available on the property for a regular sized vehicle (caravan or smaller). For over sized vehicles or trucks, there us parking on the main road near the mailboxes.
Guest access
Guests have access to a large upper deck attached to the main house. It is only a few steps away from the bunkie.
Kayaks, life jackets and paddles are available for guest use.
Bathroom is in the main house. There is an entrance door to the main house beside the bathroom that is for guests to use. No access to the rest of the main house. **Bathroom is a shared space with host.
Campfire is a shared space with the host.
During your stay
Owner does live on the property in the main house and is readily available for concerns. Guest bathroom is in the main house and is shared. Firepit area is a shared area as well.

Just a short drive away you can enjoy South Frontenac Provincial Park. If you are looking for a little bigger place to visit during your stay, we are only a 25min drive to Kingston.
