Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Enjoy a peaceful stay at our guest Casita, nestled in central Arizona. Conveniently located just 10 minutes from the I-17, which connects Phoenix to northern Arizona, we're only 1 hour north of Phoenix, 45 minutes from Prescott, and 1 hour from Sedona. Whether you're on a road trip or looking for a quiet getaway from the city, our Casita is a perfect place to rest and recharge.

The space
The Casita features a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing home-cooked meals. In the living room, a sofa bed provides sleeping space for a third guest.

Guest access
Television:
The TV has access to Netflix and other streaming platforms if you have an account.

Fitness room:
Guests are welcome to use the fitness room on the property. Please note this is an unsupervised space, and use of the equipment is at your own risk. No instruction or supervision is provided. The fitness room is not suitable for children, and minors are not permitted to use the equipment.

Hot tub:
Guests are welcome to use the hot tub during their stay. Use of the hot tub is at your own risk. Guests are responsible for supervising themselves at all times and should follow all posted safety guidelines. Do not use the hot tub while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please consult a medical professional before use if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or have concerns about heat exposure.

Trail:
For outdoor enthusiasts, an unmarked trail from the property connects directly to the Black Canyon Trail—an approximately 80-mile route through the Sonoran Desert and Bradshaw Mountains. Guests exploring using the trail do so at their own risk. Trail conditions vary, there is no signage, and the desert environment can present hazards. Guests are responsible for their own safety, preparation, navigation, and judgment while hiking or exploring the public land. I recommend using a map app such as All Trails.

Exploring the site:
Guests are welcome to walk and explore the property; however, please note that this is a working landscape. Uneven ground, a seasonal pond, tools, equipment, irrigation infrastructure, seasonal livestock areas, and natural desert conditions may be present. Guests assume all responsibility for their safety while moving about the property and are asked to remain aware of their surroundings at all times.

Other things to note
We’re happy to welcome well-behaved animal companions. We just ask that you clean up after them and keep them on a leash while outside, as our own animals—a cat and a dog—roam freely around the property.

Hi, I’m Ana! I love exploring far away places just as much as I enjoy getting to know the unique region I call home. You’ll often find me working around the property, helping bring our vision for High Desert Earth Lab to life. I’m always happy to chat with guests about the work we’re doing or share what I’ve learned about the area.
